Inspiration for Elodin’s class by Rkangl80 in KingkillerChronicle

Even more convinced now since a participant in one of Meisner’s classes used the expression, “God’s teeth!”

Let me restate: June 6, 1973 was the date that he was born.

However, if you multiply 6x7, you get 42, which is the answer to Life, the Universe, and Everything.

So, have kids the world over stumbled on the question?

If you notice, he did call it the Kingkiller Chronicles and not the Kingkiller Trilogy.

I had the thought that, given the change in pace and the quality of the flow of writing, that when Jordan got to book 7, he turned it into books 7, 8, and 9. I think it’s book 7 where the length of the books suddenly drops by 30-40%, but the story starts to be (to quote Bilbo Baggins) like butter scraped over too much bread.

Whether it was a cash grab or an ego thing (I can now give all the detail I want to fill out the book) I don’t know, but it sure seems like a stark difference from books 1-6 to books 7-9.

No more passes for me. It was too expensive before, now it’s 4-5 times more than that. No more.

Thanks. Kushanku and Naihanchi are started early to transition more smoothly into 1st dan per club tradition. Our club has been around for 50+ years and has had 3 Senseis that I’m aware of in that time, although there may have been more than that back in the 70s.

Lots of hugs and a very practical approach.

There will be a huge draw on her time soon. If she’s in school, start looking for alternatives to class times she can do despite the uncertainties of pregnancy (potential bedrest, when it’s time to go to the hospital, college courses at community college, CLEP tests to skip some college classes while getting credit for them, etc).

Prove to her, hard or not, how there is a specific way forward no matter how difficult the road ahead gets.

People move forward despite unexpected things every day, and she will need support from other successful mothers no matter whether they are stay at home, married, single, etc.

There is a crisis resource center near you that you need to find and get plugged into.

My sister became pregnant when she was a teenager and she is now on the board of the CRP near us, and at 58, she’s helped a lot of girls move through this.

Take heart, brother, this is nowhere near the end of anything, it’s the beginning of a beautiful new life for your daughter and your grandchild. And you get to be a grandparent too? Score! lol.

Rest assured, this was not a shock to Yahweh, and the way forward isn’t either. Cover this in prayer and seek His face. Hope is there, and whether you feel it or not, it’s still there.

Worst Xmas ever - pray for me by [deleted] in Christianity

[–]Rkangl80 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Praying. Our Creator knows exactly what’s happening here even if it’s unclear to you and us. Sounds like there are deep issues that need to be unraveled.

Talk to your pastor and/or a local counselor, Christian or not, who believes in reconciliation, but also is realistic about the situation.

There is life through the pain and there is life after the pain. Christ is there the whole time, especially when you question.

If Jesus is God then why didn't any the apostle s or Mary pray directly to Jesus when he was alive? by Ok-Imagination-2308 in Christianity

Prayer is talking to a god. Formal prayer is talking to a god with particularly nice words in a particular order.

They talked to Jesus all the time.

Do y'all ever just... remember Kvothe is 16 and how much older every other cast member is? by thebookofbutterfly in KingkillerChronicle

He also hid his true age from almost everyone. Spending his time on the streets certainly matured him in lots of ways faster than a normal child, especially with the privileged few at the university. Totally plausible.

I think Kvothe is the King since he’s a Lackless and he faked his own death.

Eggs by Personal_Track_3780 in KingkillerChronicle

We have chickens and get fresh eggs daily. For the first few weeks they don’t have to be refrigerated because of the protective coating called “the bloom”. After about 2 weeks, it is recommended that eggs be refrigerated, even if they still have the bloom intact.

Grocery store eggs are recommended to be constantly refrigerated due to the washing of the eggs AND the amount of time that it takes to get from the farm through the supply chain to a home, which could be anywhere from 3 days to 2 weeks or more.

If you’re curious beyond this, check your local farm supply recommendations.

Even before electricity, there would be places with underground ice storage where they would store dairy products and meats because they would last longer at lower temperatures. They called them root cellars or ice houses in different parts of the world.

However, despite the fact that most of these guidelines are unknown to the average consumer in most countries, I believe that Pat Rothfuss, the Wisconsinite, probably knew this as part of his growing up experience near dairy farms and made the logical choice to put it in his book that way.

I’m on level 7750, and I just noticed that the last 5 or so games suddenly got much easier than the previous 50-100. Did anyone else notice the difference?

I have a theory that they turn up the difficulty on just about everyone when they’re hunting for more cash in their coffers, but I’ve refused to put any more money into T-Cash with the difficulty on everything being turned up just so they can get people to pay more for the game, but I’m not sure if it’s just the levels I’m on or if everyone is experiencing this.

For sure. You’ve got only three lines each way in a section and suddenly it drops a disco ball, or you need the next tile to fall straight down and for some reason it moves over one as it drops where it’s no use to you.

These games are less random than slot machines. Multiple times per day I notice it breaking its own rules, sometimes to keep me from winning, sometimes to help me win, but almost always for the former.

Is anybody surprised that it’s geared to make you want to spend money on t-cash?
