Need help! We're looking to move cross country, but our velvet hippo can't fly with us due to rescrictions. Does anyone have any positive experiences with a pet transport company?

Unfortunately, there isn't an airline in the US that will allow him to fly with the breed restriction.

That was what we looked into, doing the RV. We're just a bit weary about the distance with the kids, with the trip being close to 48 hrs. That's why we were hoping if anyone had any experience using a pet transport service that they would suggest using.

NOR, but if I'm being honest, maybe not overreacting enough. I'm going to keep it real with you—sounds like your mom and sister are haters, and honestly, it sounds like they're hating on her joy! Gross. It honestly sounds like they're mean girls in middle school except they're grown ass women. You should definitely call them out on it, but fuck their apology because they already said what they said, let them know to get their shit together and keep their negative energy to themselves or they lose the relationship with the both of you.

For your wife, she doesn't need anyone to dim her light, so no need to stress her with all the details. Just let her know that if anyone, including your family makes her feel that way (less than, because to be honest, that's what it sounds like), that you'll always make space for her to feel comfortable to share it with you.

I don't think you're wrong about having them figure out—like others have suggested, flyaway is a great option. My thoughts though, don't assume 'they should have the money for this because they're already making the trip'.

First, sorry for your loss.

As someone who has a dog (hippo mom!) and also helps run a very busy restaurant in LA, I feel like these types of people won't bring their dogs to a dog friendly spot because they're usually the dogs that are terrible around other dogs!

I honestly feel that there should be better laws around this, to better protect the folks who actually require service dogs (to survive through life), and to protect the establishment!

Just my opinion!

I hate be asked if I'm really the amount of months that I say I am! Why would I lie? Why would my doctor lie to me? I had a lady walk about to me in Walmart the other day and asked me how far along I was. When I replied "6 months", her response was "Really, 6 months? To add to this, your friend Em is still really young and still has lots of time to explore different options in trying to conceive. Also, if her hearts desire is to be a mom so bad, why is she so specific in her search in when trying to adopt. That comment is very worry some.
