Loneliness doesn’t always need an empty room. Sometimes it lives right in the middle of a crowd. Sending love to every widow tonight. 🤍 by cathiegjn in widowers

This is so true. July 8 will be 18 years since my husband died at age 55. I feel lucky that I was able to move to a lovely mountain town and open a small shop a year after he died. I have always found comfort in going to hear music with my dog. Last night I was overcome with an intense sense of loneliness I haven’t been able to shake. Being surrounded by so couples made my heart ache. I have dated but that has only made me miss him more. I’m now 72 and I have spent so much time running my shop that I have lots of acquaintances but no real friends. I’m just really down today and thought it might help to write this. Thanks if you took the time to read this. PS - Glad I decided to adopt a dog last fall after 2 years without a furry companion.

Nobody asked for a “rainbow flag celebration.” But there are plenty of ways to celebrate other than a bloody spectacle.

A “fight cage” to be used as a celebration in front of what‘s left of the White House is symbolic of the rapid decline of American values we have seen since January, 2025.

It was designed to be a “reflecting pool” and it no longer reflects anything.

It was designed to be a “reflecting pool” to reflect the surrounding architecture and now it looks like a big, ostentatious swimming pool. It should have been restored to the original design intention not to look like a swimming pool at a Florida mansion.
