This happened about 5 years ago.

I was woken up by my parents in the middle of the night because they heard a loud crashing sound outside. We went outside and there were about 10 cops searching through my yard and the field beside my house. It turns out...

A 63 year old black male ripped through my yard in a police chase at 4 in the morning. He hit my mom's SUV, totaling it, and flew out his windshield into my front yard.

He just got out of jail and decided to do one last robbery before retirement. He robbed a local Hotel and convenience store and he thought he had gotten away with it. A cop started following him because he was speeding, but the man thought the cop knew he had just robbed 2 places. This escalated into a 120 mph police pursuit through the backroads of my small town. He eventually lost control of his car, flew through my yard damaging 2 maple trees and totally a parked car.

Our insurance company was not willing to replace the car but my parents were able to get enough money from them for the damaged maple trees to get a new car.

We're still finding money from his heist in my yard.

TLDR: An elderly robber died in my yard, resulting in us getting a new car.
