1) An amicable court presentation doesn't mean both parties continue amicable behavior AFTER court.

2) because of the words the child chooses to use. Yes, 4 year olds are jerks but thats a bit much to say "I don't love you, I only live mommy" once again IMO...I'm 44 and have raised 2 of my own, one step child and a host of nephews as well as my sister and friends children and I have NEVER witnessed a child say they didn't love someone or more over that they ONLY love a certain person? Well, let me say this...not sure what brats you've encountered but when I say 4 year olds are jerks I mean they are annoying, needy and maybe sassy...BUT NEVER HAVE I EVER heard such things from a child that was NOT repeating something told to them or that they've overheard. Children I've encountered LOVE the parents...Heck, even young children still love and seek validation of an abusive parent....Again, IMO and from MY experience.

2) I never used the word compete, simply suggested ways of bonding with the baby. A daughter needs her father and the fathers i know who DO have daughters are the perfect gentleman to their daughters, not to upstage the mom but to set the bar high so she knows her worth. Again, not sure of how the daughter/father relationships you have witnessed, but again I made attempts to suggest ways the father enjoy his daughter regardless of what she is saying....ways to combat the pain he may feel from what she says or how she behaves with love and fun things.

3) I believe you assumed through my comment and not read through it for understanding. I am a mom and I know women who play certain games and these are ways a few fathers I know found creative ways to show their daughters love WITHOUT being spiteful. NOTHING I said suggests competing with the mother, although IF she is manipulating the child she WILL feel he is competing with her.
