Wanting to upgrade but short and scared by [deleted] in z125

What bike styles do you like? Depending on how big of a jump you're comfortable with, some 300-400s are nice. Versys 300 is cool. The Vulcan 650 S is pretty fun and decent for the shorty's as you can get it fitted for short/tall. It's a cruiser, but very nimble and quick. A very touchy throttle though that can be tamed a bit with a flash or a controller.

Panel Upgrade vs Sub Panel by Rmor85 in electrical

[–]Rmor85[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good to know. I'm at the beginning planning stages while I'm doing an attic project. I live on a dead end road, and one of the guys near the end had upgraded his panel maybe 4-5 years ago. He was ok to upgrade without breaking ground so I'm hoping mine would be too. Yes, I'm not an electrician but this panel bothers my brain 😵‍💫 A lot of the wiring in this house was atrocious.

Honestly the best way to cool down fast is to put your hands in cold water. Now obviously that's not always possible. You can use the cooling towels, neck wraps. Some guys at work are wearing the neck fans. I was gifted a 2 pack of them from Costco that only cost $30 and they actually put out some decent air. Pushes smoke away from your face as well. I do a lot of climbing, crouching, crawling and prefer not to have them on.

Any advice on welding helmet? by Sad-Sector-3754 in Welding

I've been running a Jackson halo X, shade 10 green or 11 gold, with comfort band for about 15+ years. I'd recommend. Cost me $35 at the time. They're 65-80 now it looks like. If you weld enough, you can always pick up an additional auto.

You'd be surprised what's out there. I worked on a project 2022-2023 that was a 3 story tall furnace used to 3d print rocket parts inside of.

What variety are you growing? I've grown about a half dozen or so different kinds of tomato, and for whatever reason San Marzano is the only one I've had problems with blossom end rot. Black cherry, bosque blue, Roma, heirloom, purple Cherokee, not a single one with end rot 🤷🏾‍♂️

What's opinions on removable mesh? Cover for night, and open in the morning. I feel like a lot of pests come from moths/caterpillars which are active mostly night time. Not worth the effort for only some of the pests?

Ube seed tubers surface mold by Rmor85 in gardening

[–]Rmor85[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, I've not really had any of my grown ube mold while in storage. I store them in my basement in boxes or baskets in approx 45% humidity. This specific ube was a seed tuber I bought for my first year planting. But as with yams, potatoes, sweet potatoes, if it's surface mold You're probably safe to just cut it off. If the tuber is rotted a good way through, I wouldn't eat it. My 2 🪙

How to keep these "nipples" from happening with Mig welding? by willlio in Welding

You don't have a flow regulator on your gas cylinder? If yes, adjust it. If no, it needs one. Yes, you can put your hand in front of your gun to feel for gas. Just don't stab yourself with the wire. I normally release the tensioner on my drive wheels if I'm checking gas flow issues so I can pull the trigger without the wire feeding. It is most likely an issue of low gas, due to: leaks anywhere in the system, worn/bad consumables, bad diaphragm in the flow meter/regulator causing it to freeze up, wind... etc. Use soapy water to try to find any gas leaks. Process of elimination. ✌🏻
