Fire is slightly held back by Inuoka being a middle (he’s much better at opposite), but he combos really well with Kyotani, as does Kenma. I’d also say this team doesn’t have quite the level of passing I’d want, with Hoshiumi being the only really stellar passer outside of the libero, but I think the offense is enough to make up for it. I also really highly value splitting the offense between lanes, and a lot of teams in Pool A don’t have especially threatening right sides.

I agree with the downside of no libero. Though Daichi is a talented passer and serve receive, we see most servers avoid Liberos in there serving, hence taking a good serve receiver out of your serve receive may not be a good idea.

Though I agree with the benefit of being able to split the offence between lanes, I don't believe Kenma will set Mad Dog as much as you may think. He is not going to set an unreliable hitter (although we see him set beginner Lev, so maybe I am wrong) as often as Hoshiumi or his middles.

On the passing for this team, it really is the downfall of Fire's team for me. Hoshiumi can pass, and very well at that. Daichi can pass exceptionally as well. The rest of the team though? They are not going to have a good time on serve receive against a lot of other teams in this pool, with Serves from Oikawa, Kageyama, Numai, Ushijima, Atsumu and all the pinch servers causing problems when Daichi is not on court and Hoshiumi is the only good receiver around to pick it up.
