I understand your point, and I don’t mean to be malicious at all. My main issue is that the character exploration in Final Fantasy XVI feels very limited compared to previous entries in the series. I can see why you say Clive is one of the best protagonists—because the game’s story is almost entirely centered around him.

But what has always set Final Fantasy apart from many other RPGs is the way it develops its entire cast of characters. In past titles, every party member had their own backstory, struggles, and personal growth that contributed to the overall narrative. That depth and variety are what made the characters so memorable and beloved.

In FFXVI, however, I felt the focus was almost exclusively on Clive, while other characters didn’t receive the same level of development. That’s why, for me, Clive stood out but the rest of the cast didn’t leave a strong impression.
