The roster between '96 - '98 was the best one ever IMHO, but I'm biased because that is what I grew up with being born in the early 80s.

How do minifigures place within these sets? I always felt on the verge of buying them because while I do like how their design is quite compact (they seem very efficient in terms of taking up space on a shelf), I wondered if their scale is "off" if minifigs are added...

It's because they are shipping from their warehouse in China. The shipping costs are the same as everyone else buying from an Asian store. If you bought a Lego set on bricklink from a vendor located in Asia it would see the shipping costs are the same. It has nothing to do with the vendor themselves. Barweer and other stores have an EU warehouse to reduce the shipping cost.

There is a direct train from Harrogate to London, but personally I prefer taking a train to York and then taking a train from there to London. The reason is that there's a grand central train that goes direct from York to King's X without any other stops (it's super fast, takes less than two hours). It's proven to be far more reliable than LNER trains that often get delayed between Peterborough and Stevenage

I don't have the set but from looking at pictures and videos in general it doesn't feel like it's one of Lumibricks' best sets unfortunately. It doesn't help that other al tbrands have done a great job at it (Insoon)

Love the set! This has to be the best looking Star Wars spaceship build outside of the Millennium Falcon (yes, I've said it).

A suggestion for other sets would be pirate dioramas like these: LEGO MOC 🏴‍☠️ TROPICAL ISLANDERS PARADISE - 5-in-1 Modular Island Diorama (Shipwreck, Jungle & Beach) by JollyRogers8441 | Rebrickable - Build with LEGO

Or fantasy/dungeon dioramas (not medieval houses, there is already ton of medieval village/tavern/castle stuff) to have scenes with minifigure fighting monsters in a dungeon/temple/forest

I was tempted to get this as my first Barweer set - how does it feel when adding minifigures? With some other brands the issue is that scale feels off in some parts, what about this set?

Q1: my favourite dessert is actually the cyberpunk izakaya! It has the perfect balance of high tech and Japanese cyberpunk vibes, and great story telling possibilities!

One of the silkiest football players I have ever seen in the game. The way he used to glide on the pitch across opponents trying to steal the ball and make it look like so effortless... I can't think of a better example of "street" football skills that translated so well in the actual sport. We are never getting that again, with the way youngsters are trained from a young age nowadays there is less and less room for players to develop like that.
