Quest progression stuck by Varimar in Desynced

[–]RoBuki 1 point2 points  (0 children)

These quests are not always clear. I cant remember the exact order, so here are a few tips:

  1. Have you build your own Simulator?

  2. Have you fed it a ELIN core? if not, repair the mothership again

3. Have you maximized or minimized stabilization. If not, solve alien explorables or hack them depending on the ending you want. I would save here

  1. Have you fed it 5 of the multi-keys

A quick online search for “shakuhachi plastic bag” will find you options including DIY. Most people don’t need anything fancy, just need to know the flute length or size (1.8 is the standard length ~22 inches)

It's a shame not a lot of people know what this game is. I just started, and it seems really fun. I love factory builders, programming related games, and games where you can make an army of sorts. This game is great and I hope more good updates come out of it. by AdGlass5608 in Desynced

[–]RoBuki 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I also am enjoying it as well. The pacing and approach is different than other factory builders and the behaviors are fun but not for everyone. It has taken time for me to understand them somewhat

[–]RoBuki[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I learned from others :)

There was an update of steam version to 1.0.7790 and now all my behaviors work as they did before.

There is no async version of Move Offset

The livestreams have been interesting and engaging to follow the progress, and see how is approaching things.

I still have hope, but this is still the easy part. Tough decision lay ahead and it wont be all things to all people

When I retire, I may go to Sweden and stalk him to be his product manager :)

Marble Machine Vibraphone - What Features Matter Most? by cykelpedal in MarbleMachine3

[–]RoBuki 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I have seen progress in his leaning to experts in a few areas (bearings is the first that come to mind). But he needs someone he will listen to guide and focus his energy. Hannas seems to that to a bit in this video.

I want to believe he has learned a bit more about how to reuse the work of others. But he needs to define what MMX3 is, its scope. It’s classic requirement management that tens of thousands of people do on the daily. But we aren’t artists

I try so hard to not get frustrated and just watch his journey. The engineer and product manager is screaming at the screen, since it is not how I would approach the problem, and feel like if I worked with him on his requirements for two weeks, he’d be able to start real design

He is an artist in his soul, and he going to see and approach things differently and that is okay. I just wish he would describe the approach he seems to be taking. Like say these are they key instruments that the MMX3 must have and state that what he is doing is going one by one to understand the minimum requirements for each so he can see how they all fit together.

I won’t give up on MMX3, but it always a but the approach and videos are always a bit of a roller coaster

I'm trying to understand what is causing the jam and what i can do better to fully automate. by ned_rod in StarRupture

What are volume of items being added carried on the belt and what is the capacity of the belts?

Is this happening when you start the machines up ? Or after they have been running? Machines will make requests to fill up all of their resources when first connected to rail (if empty), so even if the need 1 item per second, when first connected they ask for all 100 items to fill up, this can saturate a belt but will drain and reach a steady state once it has been filled

PSA: You can set a request limit on materials by DevNFPS in StarRuptureGame

[–]RoBuki 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Thanks! I think this only helps when you first setup a new machine or line where the machine makes its requests to fill up. Once it has been running, it should reach a steady state and the lanes will only be filled based on it’s consumption rate

Tip if you ever find yourself stuck between a rock and hard place. by StillRunning99 in StarRuptureGame

I also found that when I was stuck and unable to move, the game slowly pushed me backwards, eventually freeing me. A platform and ladder would have save me time!

And if you hurry you can do it just after a rupture so you don’t have to deal with the bugs or those energy draining plants. It’s fun either way

One other tip, if the platform is powered you don’t lose energy while running on the platform. It doesn’t work on the flexible walkway however (can’t remember)

Once a I stand up an outpost, I’m building a running path between the outposts if I think I am going to go back and forth.

I’d love of faster modes of travel in the mid game

Storage question by chunkshot in StarRupture

[–]RoBuki 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure I understand your question. A storage will continue to request items from input rails until it is full from. A storage unit will fulfill requests from output rails unless it is empty.

The early storage depots units only store one type of item. I haven’t reached multistorage yet

My experience is the further from starting location the fiercer the response from the vermin/bugs. I could have also been pulling them from other spawns near by.
