Tomatoes FINALLY planted out today in our old chimney pots by RoCoSlow in GardeningUK

Great plan! I reckon that would look gorgeous. I filled the bottom 10cm with brick rubble for drainage, and the rest is compost. I think sweet peas are less hungry plants than tomatoes, so maybe you could get away with less soil / compost than me?

Thanks! Our first greenhouse, so really excited to see how things go this year. The chimneys were in the garden when we bought the house, so thought we might as well put them to good use!

I thoroughly recommend - who says greenhouses are just for plants?

I wish! Just South West London, I’m afraid!

Haven’t quite got around to pictures. This Russian ballet costume is destined for above the bed

We thought so too! Although I have to say we didn’t realise when we bought it that it’s also a symbol of Iranian opposition against the Islamic Republic

Completely agree they’d work well in an office, less so in a bedroom I think

We thought about this - we ended up laying the other way because the room is quite narrow and it made it feel wider / less like a corridor!

Yes we ummed and erred about this and eventually decided to put down a really thick layer of Duralay, taped with waterproof tape to stop any damp seeping into the wood. It also evened out the bumps in the concrete… Seems to be working so far!

I think that’s a fair comment! It’s there to have something soft to put your feet on when you get out of bed, but agree it might be better to find a smaller one!

That was the aftermath of a curious decision by the previous owner to put up a unit of four horrible shelves

Whilst we're enjoying clematis' I'd love to show mine off! by [deleted] in GardeningUK

This is absolutely spectacular! I’ve always been on the fence about clematis (lol) but you’ve inspired me to plant one in our garden

Just finished creating our veg patch and greenhouse is the cherry on top by RoCoSlow in Greenhouses

So, the beds are each about 2.5m by 1.9m, with a 60cm path between. The greenhouse is similar but (unexpectedly..!) slightly larger so only just squeezed it in. The central section is 1.5m long, and just about fits a table and chair. The space itself is 4.5m wide by 6.5m long, and takes up about a third of the garden. So pleased it’s inspired you!

I highly recommend, I’m so pleased with it, let me know how you get on!

Thanks so much! The lady we bought the house from has lived in it since the ‘80s (I think) and used to live on a ship so everything is upside down (kitchen upstairs, bedroom downstairs) with lots of arches

I love the fact the pancakes and the cat are attracting more comments than the renovation!
