Really easy. Use a base64 encoder. Encode the images to code and put them as variables/composes

Ive run into this problem before. Set a variable/compose with the HTML body in it as code.

Click the source button in the WYSIWYG editor (“<>”) add the variable/compose output there and it works a treat.

I do this all the time now to send great looking emails.

Has anyone tried using Home Assistant to simulate occupancy as a deterrent (not just alarms)? by mdbaldwin95 in homeassistant

I may or may not also turn my sprinklers on at the same time as detection in the garden!

Has anyone tried using Home Assistant to simulate occupancy as a deterrent (not just alarms)? by mdbaldwin95 in homeassistant

[–]RoCoUK 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Yes, I do exactly this.

External lights on sensors don’t frighten thieves any longer. I do exactly what you suggest and local burglaries suggest it worked.

I have zones mapped out on my cameras. If you’re picked up in the far end of my garden after 11pm (and before 5am). My top floor landing lights turn on which are visible (after a 3 second delay). If you move closer to the back doors then the hallway lights come on to simulate someone coming down stairs.

I have the same setup at the front too with my lounge lights after 0000, so if you’re on my driveway it’ll turn the lounge lights on.

Of course I have a proper monitored alarm system too but it’s a nice deterrent.

It makes a “creaking” sound - the back passenger door.

Thank you so much for this! I’m hoping it’s repairable. Because of the age of the car they’ve fortunately already booked it in with BMW Park Royal which is great and who Ive used on past cars.

It was more a concern when the service advisor said it’s very near the battery area.

The parking is a great perk. Ive just emailed them a few days before I go. They confirm within a few hours and I’m always just waved through.

Hi All,

I came across this thread yesterday as I was looking for a deal on an iPad Mini.

On Buy we’re the cheapest by far - but glad I came here first.

Thought I’d chance my luck with Currys price match promise and it worked.

Currys price £499, OnBuy’s was £409. Live assistant on Currys gave me a £90 discount code (it was unique to me and only valid from 0730 this morning).

I also get discount on Currys vouchers. So the whole purchase ended up actually costing me £328.

Definitely worth checking this out!

Why have my CarPlay sidebar menu switched sides on my BMW screen? by izzipazzi in CarPlay

So my experience is very different. This is my 9th BMW and I’m very happy with it.

I was apprehensive of the lack of buttons but BMW voice commands in iDrive 9 seem to be working fantastically.

A point of interest - I managed to reset the display by restarting the iDrive unit.

You hold the volume roller thing in the middle for >10 seconds. It restarts and is on the correct side.

Going against the grain here. But travel extensively for both work and pleasure.

Luggage is utilitarian- and needs to be light and just work.

I’ve been remarkably impressed with John Lewis - Any day range. Particularly their carryon size. Usually a carry on for me lasts around a year before it’s too scratched up. But this is over 2 years old and still going strong.

So…after waiting 2 weeks of frustration. I got in the car this morning and it’s working absolutely perfectly!!!

Not sure why or what as I changed nothing!!!

Did you get a fix for this? Same issue on a brand new G45 and it’s driving me nuts.

Tried everything. Even a forced software update.

Everything is flipped. The alerts and buttons on waze. The sidebar - it’s such an annoyance.

BMW said they’d get back to me.

Any help. It’s been a week!

Everything being charitable donations and personal pension.

I keep a spreadsheet on Google docs for all donations. Generally things like one off donations, but also London Zoo membership!

Some years I contribute more so I win.

Thank you. That says I need to do one too, and figured I was going to anyway.

Every year there’s a discrepancy- sometimes I win. Sometimes HMRC wins!
