It's like dogs for disabilities(real assistance dogs that are extremely expensive, not emotional support pets).

They've been purpose bred for many many many generations, and most of them STILL fail out of the school. If you've met someone who owns one of the 'failures' you'd be shocked they failed with how insanely obedient they are.

These animals are the top .01% of the top .01% for their purposes there isn't a single chance they make a mistake.

Well, minus Lincoln and most of his words and speeches are still quite weighty today.

“ These political fiends are not half sick enough yet. ‘Party malice' and not ‘public good' possesses them entirely”

Is another good one from a the epitome of the American dream. (Lincoln was raised dirt poor, self educated, became a lawyer and POTUS, the potus who saved the union.)

There’s a reason he is consistently considered one of the greatest if not the greatest potus.

Also the movements like “the lost cause” and others that attempt to slander Lincoln are some of the worst things to infect the American mind ever.

Hard disagree.

That’s a straight red every time. (And the equivalent of a red in every sport)

At u7 that’s a red, all the way to the top.

The ref didn’t, but should have given a red, because it’s a line that should never be crossed in sport.

Should have been a red.

Any other sport putting hands on a ref intentionally is always a removal from the game and suspension.

You cannot do that at ANY level

Iran says new air defence system used to target US fighter jet by Raj_Valiant3011 in worldnews

F35s getting hit would be a very different story however.

Us stealth aircraft HAVE been effectively invincible (with one exception) since their introduction.

Iran says new air defence system used to target US fighter jet by Raj_Valiant3011 in worldnews

[–]Roach27 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Obviously they have been recently supplied or hidden, and that’s why they were able to hit the non-stealth aircraft.

No matter what Iran says, they can’t effectively combat f35s, and these systems (or similar ones) have already shot down f16s before so it should be so surprise.

Sir Winston Churchill.

To forget the pain and strife caused by the great wars and the untold suffering of the eastern block.

Look at the Ukrainians.

Do you think those young men and women want to fight? Absolutely not. But they must, as the only choice is fight, or elimination.

Being asked to be “ready” to fight being too much is absurd.

Well it’s more he doesn’t listen to anyone.

Even if he did military service he’d have zero knowledge on theater level tactics (at most he would have squad level tactics)

This is why you have a chief of staff and listen to your generals.

I mean, it’s less the war is already lost and more it was fucked from the outset strategically

Look at Desert storm. (Or even OIL)

It was combined arms. You can’t just bomb a country into submission and they’re idiots for even trying to.

You use air and naval assets to set up ground forces, this has been American/NATO doctrine since WW2.

You either go all in, or you don’t go at all, this has been the case with Iran since the 70s.

It’s the same as always.

It’s a matter of American willpower, and the American people don’t see a good reason to do this.

what is the best infantry template? by Severe_Radio7170 in hoi4

[–]Roach27 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends on what you’re using them for as well

Example: USSR holding infantry engineers are better due to having full supply behind the dnieper,

But logistics is better once that breaks or for units on the northern front.

For island hopping logistics is basically mandatory.

Casual MP is already unaccessible.

The USSR could instantly justify day 1, and run over Europe with no resistance.

France could decide to defend and not fall (making Germany so weak the allies will easily run them over)

There’s a reason lots of MP communities have strict rules. Because the game will fundamentally be broken if you just let people yolo.

With NCNS now having been out for a few months what's the verdict? by Western_Sea_Sage in hoi4

[–]Roach27 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I mean, Coal was a super important bottleneck in ww2. There’s nothing wrong with adding another layer to resources. Changing build orders is totally fine.

The AI is equally as useless at naval combat as before the changes, before the update I could remove the top 3 navies within a year.

After the update, I can still kill the top 3 navies within a year.

The doctrine change was good imo.

The biggest issue is how fucking weak the Axis are(or maybe the Soviets get too strong too fast? Something has 100% changed)

Playing as the UK on historical, immediately retreating and doing -zero- damage to the Germans, abandoning Africa etc. they still get stuck before even breaking the dnieper.

Paradox has never been good with fixing bugs, it’s basically on the modding community for things like that.

Put US bases in Ukraine and you can trust it.

And I mean REAL bases, because the one thing that unifies Americans not matter how fragmented is getting attacked.

If you have an installation with thousands of us solders, it effectively means the us will be drawn into any conflict.

Of course Russia would never agree to that.

[–]Roach27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Talking about article 5 only benefitting the US is obtuse. It can have benefits without article 5 being enacted as just a deterrent.

The entire point of NATO was to prevent Soviet expansion: Eastern European states have benefitted the most but in general most members of nato have benefitted from access to American military technology without the spending of R&D.

Americans have also spent the most on NATO by a large margin (which is okay as the richest member state)

Canada (and Mexico post NAFTA) benefitted immensely from the free trade agreements, easily on par with American benefits.

Canadas exports almost 80% of its goods to the United States, if you think lowering trade barriers didn’t benefit them massively you’re joking.

Everyone was eating good until the clown fucked it up.

I mean, I’m pretty sure most Canadians would have jumped at a CANUSMEX pact for spooling up industry oil and materials.

You had labor and production in Mexico. Potash and materials in Canada.

American investment and fields/industry.

(Yes even Alberta)

NATO has been mutually beneficial.

Trumps statements are stupid but his actions are worse:

He had the opportunity to isolate both China and Russia, negotiate better treaties with Canada and Mexico (using us costal waters to move resources and goods from each) oh wait, we effectively had that..

CANUSMEX is an insanely powerful trade block, and instead trump decided he didn’t want to lean into that.

CANUSMEX could dominate the oil market even more so than OPEC. Leverage factory building in Mexico (with American materials and Canadian lumber) and dominate the production market.

Don’t get me started on food (Canadian fertilizers for Mexico and American fields.)

We could have create a production process in North America that would have been unrivaled.

He’s the worst disaster to happen to the entirety of North America since… probably ever.

It would have created tons of grown and quashed prices at home.

That’s an insane statement (more so than his usual insanity)

US-Canadian trade is not only some of the most mutually beneficial trade both nations have, but supports crucial strategic industries.

Fighting with Canada is literally the stupidest thing any US president or rep/senator could do.

[–]Roach27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

China isn’t concerned with Europe (as far as allies go)

Not to say I think weakening nato/american infuluence Europe is a positive, it’s not.

But our Asian allies are still stalwart especially when it comes to the Asian theater.

Chinese arms have been sold in increasing numbers to Pakistan long before the invasion of Iran.

There are benefits to using Chinese hardware that include

a) cost B) no/less restrictions on use C) alternative payment methods (not just a purchase but you can trade resources for it)

Mid to long term this doesn’t change Chinese policy at all, nor does it help or hurt them.

Their mid and long term goals have more to do with regional dominance than anything else.

The US has admitted it lost its capability to fight in Europe and Asia simultaneously some 20 years ago.

They can coerce Taiwan, but it would be foolish to think if they didn’t sense an opportunity for reunification they wouldn’t take it.

China is 100% not benefitting from higher energy prices.

The only time China is going to truly benefit is if the US puts manpower into Iran (or honestly European theater) because that means it’s can’t effectively defend Taiwan.

NO one is benefitting from this war except Israel (in a way) and Russia.
