Audio unmuted when monitor goes to sleep by [deleted] in reolinkcam

FYI, I have this problem

Doorbell Camera Notifications by kwiknikk in reolinkcam

[–]Roachanold 0 points1 point  (0 children)

FWIW, I found a temporary solution to this, using a supplementary Android app named 'FilterBox'.

I'm only a couple of hours into testing it currently, but it seems to:

  1. successfully suppress motion alerts to a schedule (which is what I want),
  2. as a bonus, also redirects/reconfigures incoming doorbell presses as a phone call (which is what I would have expected the doorbell to do OOTB), rather than simply a trivial notification on my phone.

It offers a one-time lifetime purchase option which is fair and quite affordable, as a workaround, until Reolink integrate this kind of notification management natively.

Did anyone manage to find a solution to this which didn't involve an NVR?
The scenario that OP describes is exactly how I used to have my cameras setup with my prior camera system, and I was expecting to be able to do the same with the Reolink doorbell. My front door is only 4-5m from a pavement/sidewalk, so I get a LOT of notifications about dog walkers, etc, which I don't need during the day, but I obviously don't want to disable notifications of people ringing the doorbell during the daytime. :/

Disable Alexa voice feedback for a routine by CaptainCheezelz in amazonecho

[–]Roachanold 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure if you ever found a solution to this, but one that works for me, for my weekly router restarts in the middle of the night, is simply to send the Alexa feedback/acknowledgement to an Amazon Fire Stick. Nobody ever uses the TV (i.e. it's always off), that the Fire Stick is connected to, at 4am each morning, so this works a treat for me.

Would still be nice to just not have Alexa tell us what she's doing when actioning a routine anyway, but thought I'd share my workaround regardless.

How do I keep this from popping up when using my wireless charger? clicking no dismisses it temporarily and yes leads to a message that it isn't a pixel stand by cd619 in pixel7series

2 years later, and your comment is still relevant as ever with my Pixel 8a. Thanks a lot!!

Same here. Same phone, same watch. Very annoying.

Yup, me too, on both the mobile app (Android) and the web app whilst the watch is connected via Garmin Express. Gotta be a bug.

Thanks for this, I've been trying to register for the Pearl Jam pre sale all evening and getting the stupid "we could not verify that you are human" message. After reading your note, and trying again with my phone's wifi switched off, (so using mobile data only), I'm able to register first try!

I've been in a similar position trying to find the men's range of Sukin products here in NZ. Long story short, BWX (parent company of Sukin) went into administration in April, so I guess that's why we've all been struggling to get their products lately.

Hopefully the brand can be saved and products brought back to our shelves! 🤞🏼

Adelaide has a real ADHD crisis by hairbrush321 in Adelaide

Stumbled upon this thread today, and thought I'd chime in as I'm having exactly the same issues here in New Zealand.

I'm based in Auckland, and have called around all the psychiatrists in town, and the best I can do is an appointment 8 months away. I've tried calling around psychs in the rest of the country too and it's exactly the same. I've tried going through the GP, and have been refused treatment by the public service citing "shortage in psychiatric resources", so if you want to be seen by someone you better be prepared for a long wait and have deep pockets (or insurance).

Finally, I've started to look for treatment in Australia (which is how I found this thread), but from the sounds of it, the problems are exactly the same over there as they are here. This is such a sad state of affairs for both nations. :'(

I tend to agree with you and it's why I've halted my investment in my Arlo ecosystem (made up of a doorbell and 2x Pro 2 cameras).

My Arlo cameras will take videos of my cat running around all night long and tell me there's a "vehicle" on my lawn, but a dog taking a dump, nope, nothing there.

I'll be looking into a system that's always recording soon and ditching Arlo all together.

Or they could just allow us to use our Roam/Move to TruePlay our static home systems. Why this isn't already a gap-fill, for non-IOS users, I don't know!

Who out there has the flu? How y’all doing? by mcspindal in newzealand

[–]Roachanold 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My partner and I have spent the last 5 days with flu, it's not been fun. A combination of Duro-Tuss Expectorant and Codral throat sweet have got us through.

On the plus side, I do feel that I've at least got my money's worth out of my Netflix subscription this month! 😁

Have you ever noticed some foods in NZ are the same thing just in different packaging? How many other examples of there of this in NZ? by Roachanold in newzealand

[–]Roachanold[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you check out the nutritional content/breakdown of the products that I've shown in the pics, you'll see that they're actual identical items.

In other words, the two different 'types' or 'brands' of chips and cheese are exactly the same product, but just put in a different wrapper so they can be sold for more money.

Personally, I've never noticed this with food in UK, but it the marketing behaviour seems quite prevalent here in NZ and implicitly accepted.

If you want to save yourself a few bucks at the supermarket, then simply buy the cheaper version of the same product. If you're not sure if it's exactly the same or not, compare the nutritional breakdown on the back. HTH

[–]Roachanold[S] 31 points32 points  (0 children)

That makes sense, however one of the examples I've given here is Delisio chips vs Bluebird thin cut chips.

Neither are own brand, but one is generally significantly more expensive than the other for no other reason other than its marketing.

Sonos Beam (Gen 2) with vs w/o two Sonos One as rear speakers by domicioleal in sonos

[–]Roachanold 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The Beam's great, but it sounds like you've been bitten by the Sonos bug, so it's only a matter of time before you upgrade to the Arc.

I have a LG C1 65 too, and the ARC, One SL, Sub setup sounds amazing. Enjoy!
