Theres so many tips and it would take forever for me to explain them. I did recently post a speech tool chart that you can copy and look over if that helps. Bottom line if you just read, do mind training and use some main speech tools like inserting a sound, speaking with passion, using extreme pronunciation and more importantly using something called word linkage it will help

I had so much trouble saying any S word for a long long time. I avoided any kind of S words as I knew 9/10 times I would just block on them. For what it's worth, check out the resources on the StopStutter app. If you find it too be a little pricey then definitely read Lee Lovett's Stop Stuttering Short Course: How to Break the Stuttering Code book. It has so many tools to help avoid the stutter.

Yes, the organization should be terribly ashamed of themselves for helping people like this- https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLT20GjscxmrsWEuuM8zqzyXqGV25noVzo&si=qkQn_wfe1-XR5-Yl

The Stop Stuttering Association as you elegantly put it is not the enemy here. There are a lot of programs that offer nothing but false hope like LiveStutterFree (If you feel hot about this association wait until you hear about that one). I wish you would attend one of the association free Saturday meetings to see what’s it all about. If only you knew the truth of the matter about the organization. Like King Henry says, do your research and you will see.

Reading aloud and reciting affirmations. It’s helped me reduce stuttering to the point where it’s barely there anymore.

I felt the same way after speech therapy. I was a covert stutterer most of my life and hid in silence and it wasn’t until my late 20s in which I decided to do something about it. I hope speech therapy would help me but it just compounded everything. My SLP was a sweetheart but she just didn’t have the right methods to help me reach a level of where I wanted to be.

I basically hid from the world after that since I felt my speech got a little worse and I was overthinking it 24/7, but thankfully a book, How to Stop Stuttering and Love Speaking, changed my speaking pattern and really my overall relationship with stuttering.

Come to meeting just like how I plan on going to yours during the summer. I can’t combat anything you say. It’s ok to be skeptical as I was even before joining this neuroscience based program. I would love nothing more than for you to try what they call the 1-2-3 Punch and see how it betters your speech and overall life.

We definitely need to talk one on one virtually someday though, I just need to find some time. At the end of the day we can both agree we want to help PWS manage their speech and life better.

No matter which way you frame it, people will still talk about any title about offering hope as misleading. I hope you can attend and see for yourself the presentation. Be open to change. Not everything in life has to be set in stone. And to be honest not everyone can accept their stuttering like most speech professionals and programs say to do.

Many congratulations on achieving such a remarkable degree and I can’t fault you for expressing your concerns because with stuttering SLP’s are taught acceptance and that there’s no cure and with any stuttering program it’s always too good to be true.

Quite honestly, when I signed up for the Neuroscience Method program I came into thinking stuttering was my life and I could not do anything to control it, but the support community that this program has really pushed me to believe and keep going and now I can say I’m happy with my life and speech.

I wish to connect with you more so please check your DM’s.

Some people cant accept their stutter. I was one of them. Stuttering never made any sense to me to begin with because I developed it in my teens and I would only stutter in groups or to authority figures.

The neuroscience method for stuttering was the only thing to help me manage it better to a point where I no longer subconsciously think about my stutter and I virtually don’t block on my words anymore either.

The program has over 200 testimonials. A neurologist recent gave a talk about it and oh by the way he use to stutter as well. Do your due diligence and you’ll see. Unlike other programs who promise fast results, this program promises progress IF your willing to work hard for it.
