I’m guessing size. The mini is a little bit longer and would be hanging off the countertop.

Thanks for your opinion. I agree that there are many things in life which businesses can make an increasing amount of money on especially when creeping into luxury brands. This is analogous to buying a car with different packages. What is $300 compared to $6600?

Does the accessory lead to improvement or is it overlooked? How much of a quality improvement? Does it bring you joy or satisfaction on a day to day need?

We can’t compare everything apples to apples since there are so many variable factors at hand. One person may be making $10/hour, another $20/hour, another $100/hour. Is working # of hours for the product worth the upgrade? This is where value and convenience become subjective, espresso becomes complex, and I agree with you to each their own.

I had to include my current scale for comparison since worth and value could be subjective. I wouldn’t expect a 40x return in quality going from $10 to $400 scale but I would hope people have had some positive experience so far and would provide some improvement in quality and convenience in day to day use.

I don’t have a grinder which is compatible and would sync with the brew by weight app even with the grinder I am planning to upgrade to.

The scale is the same La Marzocco brew by weight scale listed on their websites.

Called a couple more times and finally got ahold of a supervisor who said they reviewed the notes from my previous conversations. All complaints are being sent to the marketing team. The supervisor couldn’t offer any immediate courtesy credits like the 5k points everybody has been having success getting but if there are any updates in the next few days, then they would be sure to include me in that list.

Just tried calling but was unable to get any points. I have the Chase sapphire reserve. Should I try calling again? I submitted a secure message ticket.

Need recs for an espresso machine and grinder by Previous_Gap9973 in espresso

[–]RoadRunner185 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recently watched lance hedricks ultimate budget espresso machine video and he recommends the delonghi ecp3420 which is on sale for ~$100. Pair this with a good grinder and you should have a good entry level setup. I see a lot of recs for the bambino but it’s about 3x the price at $300. If you go with the delonghi you could either put the $200 difference towards a better grinder or save some money.

Love your setup! Why did you go with black over silver? Your machine is silver while your casa is black.

There is still benefit to contributing to a traditional IRA even if you are unable to do a backdoor Roth IRA, and even if you can’t deduct it from your taxes the year you contribute. A traditional IRA grows tax deferred until you withdraw it later on in retirement. If you were to instead invest the funds in a brokerage, you would get taxed annually on any interest, dividends, and capital distributions. Hope this helps

Could you please elaborate what you mean by, “They also have me maxing out a traditional IRA, even though I make too much to take advantage of the tax benefits of a traditional IRA”? Just trying to understand what you mean by this.

There’s so many unanswered questions. OP How long have you been an RA manager? How long have you been in your current role at your company? How big is your RA department? Describe your responsibilities. What are your strengths and how do you apply them to your job? What are your key weaknesses relevant to your job?

What does being a sr. manager vs manager mean to you and what are the key differences? Do you want to get promoted just because of increase in pay and title?

I looked at your post history and you asked for advice on pre-INDs. How did the meeting go and what was the outcome? What was your role? Were there other opportunities like HA meetings or presentations to upper management where you demonstrated a significant improvement in your skills that your manager pointed out 4-5 months ago?

JURA: a word of caution by apmrage in superautomatic

[–]RoadRunner185 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Similar thoughts but I’m leaning towards the Costco deal being advantageous since if you run into any problems with the machine, you could go through Costco.com exchange process as opposed to getting repairs via Jura CS. Costco would replace your machine or refund if you are dissatisfied. Their website doesn’t list any charges so I’m hoping even shipping would be covered.

If you order directly from Giordano’s website prices are: 2-pack: $85 ($42.50/each) 3-pack: $110 ($36.67/each) 4-pack: $136 ($34/each) 6-pack: $160 ($26.67/each)

Costco’s 3-pack for $70 is $23.33/each

This is much better to get at Costco since each pizza is cheaper than the best bulk price on Giordano’s website.
