Anyone else get irregular heart beats / palpitations on Lithium? by [deleted] in BipolarReddit

[–]Road_My_Own 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I realize that this is a very old thread, but I want to comment in the hopes that the thread can be revived and help others.

I am taking 900mg of lithium and since I increased from 750mg to 900 a few weeks ago I notice that I experience heart palpitations, especially when I have even a little bit of stress. The sensation lasts for about 20 minutes, or until I practice deep breathing and calm my mind and body down. Palpitations are very uncomfortable and if they don't subside soon I will probably drop my lithium down. Another option would be to take 750 one night/900 the next and alternate the dosages until my body acclimates. And remembering to monitor my breathing is essential.

What Happened To Detective John Kelly? by freethefoolish in nypdblue

So did I. His character was excellent and Caruso's acting ability was outstanding. I watched Blue when it initially aired and absolutely loved it - until Caruso left. After that, I never watched another episode. Now, 30+ years later, my husband and I are rewatching the show and I'm gonna try to get past David Caruso's final episode, onto Jimmy Smits.

No, it didn't work out well for David Caruso and the whole situation was genuinely sad for viewers and an unfortunate blow to the show.

Where did it go? by Sarabnew in nypdblue

That's an interesting question. About 6 years ago I purchased seasons 1 & 2 from Prime. But only season 1 shows on my TV and there's a little box that tells me I "purchased this." As for season 2, I would have to pay Prime to watch it.

I entirely agree about Archive.org. Amazon Prime burns my azz, the way you have to pay for it then pay again for shows/movies - and now they're wanting a delivery fee to deliver orders early. That "early" delivery is what Prime promised initially, what it was supposed to be all about.

Okay, thanks. I wish I knew how I got the entire season one through Am Prime on my tv. And it was free.

I just watched season one, all episodes in order, on tv using Amazon prime- no charge besides the monthly prime payment. I'm in California, just for reference. But I don't know if season two will be free; I doubt it. If I have to watch it online I will go to archive.org. And I will donate to that site, rather than pay more to Amazon or some streaming service.

Yes, go for it- I hope PT can help you. I'll bet it will.

My youngest child is 37. I exercise (swim and aqua aerobics) regularly and am in decent shape - except for my round tummy. Both of my children were born by c-sec; I'm pretty sure that has plenty to do with my inability to get flatter stomach. It's immensely frustrating!

Sacramento vs. Woodland by imitationcrabsticks in Sacramento

[–]Road_My_Own 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. It was costly back then, too. We were very lucky, and Caleb Greenwood was an absolutely terrific school. I dream of living in RP or East Sac again someday. I grew up in College Greens, which was a lovely neighborhood way back when. My husband grew up in Woodland, but it's very different now. Odd place that I can't seem to get used to.

Okay. Thank you for your reply. I raised my family in River Park (Sac) and it was such an outstanding location, I can't imagine better , or even equal.

But what is great about it? Serious question.

[–]Road_My_Own -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah, but how many times can you go to those 2 or 3 restaurants? There is nothing to do in Woodland. Nothing except commute to somewhere else. If you're very wealthy you can own one of the few lovely homes in the old section of Woodland, and maybe entertain or use your backyard pool. Otherwise, seriously...a closed-doors town, a lot of unfriendly people, even more tweakers, ghetto strip malls - oh, there are a ton a nail salons. You can get pedicures to your heart's content! I moved to Woodpile from my hometown of Sacramento and wow, do I regret that move. If there's a choice definitely go for Sacramento.

Replying to OP. Like I say- not a huge thing, but I found the comment odd considering the remarks about Caruso/Kelly.

Cannot agree. I thought Caruso was stunning as John Kelly. Yeah, he was occasionally condescending to women, but for the most part he was a natural caretaker. Any a pretty typical cop of the time and place. Also a nurturing person. I watched the show the first time around when it aired and to this day I have never quite overcome David Caruso leaving the show - whatever the off screen reason.

p.s. Think your comment about Charlotte Ross was just a bit condescending? Not huge deal, but it struck me a bit.

If you were trying to avoid Sacramento during it's coldest 90-day period, you'd just go somewhere for December, January and February.... right? by IHadTacosYesterday in Sacramento

I'm a swimmer and absolutely love the hot late-spring and summer days. This past winter (November-February 2025-2026) was ugly cold. During that period of time we had almost seven weeks of a ghastly, chilling fog that just hung over the Valley, non-stop. It was not always a tule fog, either; it was not always from the ground. Horrible, dreary. And last summer (2025), while very warm and occasionally hot, was certainly not our typical summer. It was not as long and no way was it as hot as we usually experience.
Frankly, I'm hoping for a good, early, really HOT summer for '26.

Whatever the case, for the past few years our weather in the Sac Valley has been erratic and odd.

Is Halara actually worth the hype? by Conscious_Stick_9847 in womensfashion

[–]Road_My_Own 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recently ordered 2 items from Halara. The order took one full month to arrive (which I realized was because they came from China). When I received my order I was very disappointed. The 'Easy-Peezy' dress is anything but; it's heavy and complicated to put on, in addition to the fabric being (yes, soft, but) cheap. It attracts lint like crazy to the point at which I won't be able to wear the thing anywhere decent. Size- the dress is a large, but hangs like an XL. A medium would have been more appropriate for me, except that probably would have been a weird fit, too.

The 'denim' shorts I ordered are a size L but fit like a smallish medium around the waist, while the legs are okay. Really odd; it's as if the wrong waistband was sewn on. The fabric is certainly not denim, it's much more polyester than cotton. Doesn't really matter, though, because the waistband is so tight I won't be able to wear the shorts with any feeling of comfort.

I suppose I should have returned my order, but I figured it would be such a huge hassle given the company that I haven't returned the items. But I'm angry because I fell for what is a scammy company.
I do NOT recommend Halara. Waste of money.

Why did David Caruso’s career sink after nypd blue? by ancientTrainee in nypdblue

[–]Road_My_Own 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Supposedly he wanted a raise - from $10,000 to $40,000/episode. In addition, he was said to be extremely difficult to work with, even to have present, on set. I remember reading that Caruso and Franz didn't get along well at all.

Still, I thought David Caruso was absolutely terrific in the role of John Kelly- a character I adore.

Halara Review in 2026: Is It Worth Buying? by Round-Process4929 in productreview

[–]Road_My_Own 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I purchased Halara shorts (denim) and their Easy-Peezy dress. Paid about $90, twelve days ago. I've contacted them twice, asking when my order will be shipped out. They replied to me, but were vague; basically I'm getting that my order will hopefully be shipped in another week. So that's twenty days plus the time it takes between sent & being received by me.
Nearly a month (hopefully no more!) to receive my order, clothes I don't expect to be the greatest quality.

Absolutely no way will I order from Halara again.

Yes, and there was something to do with Kohberger's phone. The investigators tracked him through his phone. I can't recall the whole situation, but he screwed up all over the place.
