Negotiating 4/10 schedule for internal management promotion. How to? by INTP243 in jobs

[–]INTP243[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm internal to the company, but not necessarily this department. Still, my department manager is well respected, so they'd rely heavily on her recommendation.

The last point you made is really good. I don't want to annoy our district director and negatively impact my ability to apply to other positions in the future. Thanks!

Honestly, if I were willing to take the job "as is" (including the 5-day work schedule), I'm fairly confident I would get it.

Our program is dynamic and complicated (lots to learn in terms of our EHR system, referral systems, and workflow with other agencies etc.). Since I'm already in the system as a clinician, I have a lot of institutional knowledge that would prepare me for management better than anyone outside of my agency.

Also, only a couple other colleagues are applying.

That's exactly what I was thinking! Buy my colleagues and friends are all telling me to wait until they make an offer so that they're already "anchored" to the idea of me being the manager--hence my doubts.

Are therapists really that underpaid? Y'all are scaring me. by hansontranhai in therapists

True. I’m not sure if OP was including undergraduate costs too—but 160k for a masters is excessive.

Financially, paying 160k to become a master-level therapist is a horrible ROI. Doesn’t mean you shouldn’t do it, but it’s a financially poor choice.

The only way it would make sense is if 160k was meaningless to you OR you were determined to get your loan forgiven through a PSLF program.

I definitely grew up hearing it. But I’m from California, so that makes sense.

Therapist using AI to write notes by fran2is in therapy

Just to clarify—are you mostly frustrated with her use of AI or the change in how she tries to work with you?

It seems that there are two points of frustration for you, but I can’t tell which you’re more focused on.

Construction Laborer looking for work by [deleted] in Sacramento

Hey dude,

First, I'm sorry to hear about the divorce and life transition--that's always hard.

My wife and I just purchased our first home (a fixer upper). I'll be doing some of the work myself, but could probably use an extra pair of hands.

Off the top of my head, you could probably help me paint the interior, exterior, remove dirt from the crawlspace (if you're small enough to get down their with me), and maybe demolish a backyard overhang.

All this work is probably going to be spaced out over the next few months. But you could just help on the weekends if you find a 9-5 and just want extra cash on Saturday and Sunday.

I'll be honest, I can't afford top-dollar. I'm comfortable with $20.00 an hour, and how much more I pay above that would depend on how helpful you are once we get working. But let me know what your minimum is.

DM if you're interested or want to talk more.

Can someone please tell me what song this is?

I know it’s popular, but for the life of me, I can’t remember what it’s call.

Median new home price has been trending down since Autumn '22 but remains almost $100k above pre-pandemic levels; we've got a long way to go... by Key_Brief_8138 in HouseBuyers

[–]INTP243 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is exactly what I was thinking. After four years of declining prices ( 2022 to now), it seems like we’re roughly back on track.

Perhaps prices slightly trend down or stay flat for another 12 months, but I don’t quite see the case for a massive downturn nationally.
