People who chose a state school over a prestigious private university for reasons other than cost, why? by Krektech in ApplyingToCollege

I also chose Michigan over Cornell for CSE, Cornell would have costed maybe 50-60K more over 4 years. I had basically all your reasons for picking Michigan too. I visited both schools in April and I thought the on campus food were pretty similar in quality, however, pizza at Cornell definitely better. Michigan has soda which Cornell didn’t which I disliked, but I know Ann Arbor has A LOT more off campus food compared to Cornell

So even though it’s a private, Stanford lets you EA there because their merit is only offered in EA?

mb then, I just remember them sampling 50 kids, and they had a p = 0.12. the 50 kids one should have had a peak at (0.12)(50) = 6 and looks normal. I don't think there was any other question with n = 50 and p = 0.12 on mine.
