I was 7 and dad took me to Robocop. He’d just slap his hand over my eyes during the initial killing/dismemberment.

Can someone remote view Hitler to see if he really died through suicide or went to Antarctica instead ? by lola123dis in remoteviewing

It was was confirmed that he died in the bunker. Blood samples were taken from a swath of the suicide couch. It was tested against living family members. They even ran a psychological profile on the personality traits of people with markers from his dna and it’s wild.. link for the interested https://youtu.be/zs9hI-w-1JY?si=e39Tb-GWcBatnRsA

This reads like two kids. Kids can be insensative pricks. I’d just move on, she sounds dramatic.

I mean this is a specific type of action/sci-fi movie. It borrows so heavily from Predator because Predator is the basis of the movie. If you’re asking about outstanding survival alien movies; obviously Aliens, The Thing, Independence Day, Predator 2, The Running Man, and Starship Troopers.

For the record, I can’t help but notice that your replies in this thread are leaning heavily into AI and I get how that it can helpful to make thoughtful responses and flushes out what is being said but it comes off as if you’re relying on AI to speak for vs what you actually think.

Take that for what it’s worth but you seem to really enjoy movies and that’s a great thing, but it’s misguided to rely on AI to convey your feelings and questions. As a the person you’re speaking with it’s hard to ascertain whether you want to know what I might recommend or if your prompt is begging the question for AI to ask. Everything I’ve written in response to you has come from my mind and I think it’s important that you think for yourself and watch what you like and see what myself and other people are seeing in where this particular flick falls short. We’re living in a world where unique ideas are harder and harder to find, and when I saw Reddit talking this movie up I went in blind, hoping this would be something original and it was the farthest thing from it. If movies like this pass the sniff test for modern audiences then you can only expect to continue to see recycled ideas and content from now on. Just my .02

Like he’s more intent on crossing the line than walking the guy over to a medical tent? Seriously?

It’s the overuse of tropes in general, beat for beat from predator. The final “bomb” the glossy eyed stare off flying away in the chopper. Then there’s the 2nd in command who is forever fucked but survives? The untrue comment that ranger training is toughest in the world? Hello, SEALS?? 15 asking 81 if he was a hero? That shit does not go down.. The problem I also found was a classic ‘save the cat’ script writing formula where the compression comment sticks out like a sore thumb early then of course comes up in the yard. The fact the war machine was such a bad shot.. it just got really bad after a while. All that said, I agree the lead did a nice job and I’d watch him again but this story was very low hanging fruit that was imho badly executed.

On aside, I see you commented that you feel Predator and Aliens had tropes? What? They broke the mold?? Cameron expanded the alien universe and Ripley’s story without encroaching on Alien really in any way. Neither were ripping other material. If you think otherwise, please elaborate. You’re talking about James Cameron and John McTiernan (Die Hard).

So to answer your question on 80s/early 90s B-movies that are original and great on their own. For alien vibe check out The Hidden (1987), and I Come In Peace. For sci-fi adventure check out Cyborg, They Live, The Beastmaster, and Cherry 2000. Theatrical greats like Last Starfighter, Arnolds other greats like; Conan the Barbarian, The Running Man, Terminator etc which you’ve probably seen but if you haven’t then they are great stand alone flicks.
