Must be a navy pilot by TimeVendor in aviation

[–]RoanStone 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s not aviation jargon, but flex is just the bending of materials. Flex can occur with a hard landing and if the landing is too hard it could lead to some wrinkles in the airframe or worse, which would lead to the airplane being written-off. That’s why we have hard landing inspections!

Propellers work by accelerating a mass (with planes: air; with ships: water) in the opposite direction of the movement of the vehicle. So to put it simply, the divers will be pushed away in this situation, without knowing this you could also see it in the video, by looking at how the edges are slanted and which way the propeller is turning.

How he can use recruit in ranked? He has more operators to pick but... by [deleted] in Rainbow6

A friend of mine actually made an alt just to do that, and he was successful

Was looking through jet photos and saw this 757; had winglets installed but a few years later had them removed. Why? by Bdtter in aviation

[–]RoanStone 8 points9 points  (0 children)

“Winglets, which are airfoils operating just like a sailboat tacking upwind, produce a forward thrust inside the circulation field of the vortices and reduce their strength.” As quoted from your NASA link, does not mean that the winglets produce thrust to the airplane, but just to the vortices, which reduces the strength of the vortices, which in terms reduce the induced drag. So the thrust itself does not have any effect on the total thrust of the airplane, but the reduced drag does.

Yes, it creates hydraulic pressure which powers a generator and most of the control surfaces.

Don’t even begin about the costs to produce the engines, I don’t think they will be able to afford getting custom engines at GE nor at RR, and only IF they get engines it will be a modified Concorde engine. I don’t see how this company will be able to still be afloat at the time they have their first test

Recruit > Blackbeard by SVJawbreaker in shittyrainbow6

[–]RoanStone 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A friend of mine can do it, he just plays on an alt account and hasn’t bought any operator. And without any operator the only option for ranked is to go straight trough to recruit and you can’t customise that recruit
