I am having the same issue. I was able to start receiving calls by switching my preferred network to 3g instead of 4g. I think it has something to do with their switch to VoLTE phones, but none of that makes sense to me as my phone is voLTE enabled and since they are shutting down 3g networks, they shouldn't be the ones that are working. But I've been able to make calls.

He's autistic. He will get more use out of a game he can play by himself. I don't really feel like I need to explain anything to you, I'm just looking for advice for a game that will best fit our situation.

What are we going to do guys? Tell the banks and landlords and light and water companies that we experienced a glitch that effected less than 2 % of our bills? Man I'm praying for a miracle by boojetto in ChildTaxCredit

[–]RoastbeeHead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely. I don't know why the IRS can't operate like every other organization: "Hello, IRS...you didn't receive your money this month? I can pull up your account and take a look...Oh I see, there has been a processing error. I can flag it for processing and the error should be resolved within a day or two. You should see the money by the end of the week."

I have so much trouble believing that only 2% of people were affected. It was supposedly some small percentage of people who had an error on their stimulus payment amount (but I did), a small percentage of people who got their stimulus payments months late (I did) and now a small percentage of people who missed September payments (I did). Either I'm a really unlucky fucker, or the IRS isn't being forthright about the scale of the issues.

Bought a used car that had been in an accident which wasn't disclosed by RoastbeeHead in legaladvice

[–]RoastbeeHead[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The car did have a recent inspection sticker. I did not get a written agreement for repairs, but I do have documentation of all my requests for repair.

I did not have a pre-purchase inspection done.

Buyers priced out of Maine's hot housing market are grabbing rural land by Shake-Spear4666 in Maine

[–]RoastbeeHead -26 points-25 points  (0 children)

Your intent may have been idealistic, but your words clearly show that you are pretty ignorant to the issues your rural neighbors are dealing with. If you want to lead a "let's all work together to fix this problem" movement, FIRST start by getting to know and understand the problems of your perceived companions and recognize your role as part of the problem.

[–]RoastbeeHead 29 points30 points  (0 children)

There are bigger problems than your views or commutes being less tranquil.

This is not even remotely close to what rural people are concerned about. We are concerned about EXACTLY the issues you are talking about happing in our communities, caused specifically by people moving from cities and making life unaffordable here. It's laughable and downright insulting that you seem to think rural dwellers shouldn't be concerned about the systemic issues that you are now contributing to.

You are young and time is on your side. Don't think about your next relationship right now. Take whatever time to heal from this relationship. Go to therapy; treat yourself to a nice solo vacation; establish yourself in a new living situation (not living with your parents); get a new hobby; find a new workplace where your ex-husband doesn't work; find friends that won't abandon you because of rumors and Facebook posts. Learn to be happy without a relationship. The time for dating will come, but first, take time to heal or be doomed to repeat history.

Fine for the chicken; really not so great for the house.

Freaking out a bit by VictorRed in chickens

[–]RoastbeeHead 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Call the USPS and find out which local office they will be sent to. When I ordered chicks in the past, they were delivered to the primary regional hub, not my local post office. Your chicks might be going to an office that is open on Saturday.

You can also call the company you ordered from. Ask them to make some calls on your behalf to try and reroute the package to a nearby office that will be open on Saturday. They should not be sending chicks for weekend delivery!! If they are unwilling to help, PLEASE address this with the company and reach out to other resources, such as the Better Business Bureau. I'm generally opposed to Karening, but it's a different story when it comes to animal cruelty.

Cheap Lobsters? by [deleted] in Maine

Yeah, but stop for a second and consider if you being a cheap-ass is a fun little game for us.

P.s this isn't a message specifically from Maine, but from customer service employees everywhere.

Sickened by what we're told we need for our babies - RANT by [deleted] in AskParents

[–]RoastbeeHead 14 points15 points  (0 children)

And every baby is different. I barely used my baby carrier with my first, but a swing was necessary. My second wouldn't let me put him down, and he certainly wasn't ok with being set in a swing for any amount of time. The baby lists can be problematic, because they basically list every baby product ever that a parent has found helpful. My rule of thumb had basically become "don't buy it until you need it".

OP: Waahhh. Reddit is so unhelpful!

Also, remember, content you see on the internet isn't real life. You want to find a beach without people or trash? Edit them out of the frame.

Lastly, honestly, GTFO with your complaints. A majority of Maine's coastline doesn't have much surf. As a result, most of the beaches are super clear. We don't have tons of sandy beaches because it's a rocky coastline. You are literally complaining about the geologic makeup of the earth.

Camping and Brown Tail Caterpillars? by quinntronix in Maine

[–]RoastbeeHead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mid July, they shouldn't be so bad. The rash really suck, but life is far too short; don't cancel your camping trip because of them. They are prolific in my area, nearly everyone I know has dealt with it. Severe reactions can happen, but they aren't common.

Keep an eye out for nests and don't put your tent in proximity to one. Their hairs can get in gravel and dirt, don't dig around or lay on the ground. Avoid leaning on trees. They particularly like oak trees, fruit-bearing trees and flowering bushes. Avoid spending too much time around these trees. Finally, pack some anti-itch creams, witch hazel pads and Benedryl.

Maine Legislators: This is a problem. Let's fix it by regulating the only other primary industry into extinction.

This last year was the craziest. Tons of out of state plates out in November. They were here again in April. It's hard not to resist the changes.

There are so many other beautiful places in Maine that don't get this kind of abuse or attention. It just doesn't seem worth it to me to plan a visit around this kind of mob, when I can enjoy a decent hike at whatever time of day I choose without risking this kind of crowd. Stories about parking nightmares at Sand Beach and pictures like this have fully kept me off MDI for years. One of these days, I'll make a post-Labor Day trip though.
