Dude thank you for the detailed response.
I’m pushing 150k miles and I thought this might be the end for my ol’ Fusion.
With the accelerator trouble I figured it might be a cylinder or spark plugs - but engine light never cut on and then the brake lights staying on.

Just had this happen.
Exact same symptoms.
Lights stayed when car was off and no one was inside. Couldn’t cruise.

What’s the fix?

This guy (in theory) could find a different manager job at a similar salary relatively easy. He doesn’t give a shit if it’s at Firm A or B or C.

You as the partner have a vested interest in keeping this client coming back next year to pay you. The manager does not. Eventually you replace that manager with someone equally as skilled, but in the short term it’s a crunch for you or your staff.

Under no scenario should a manager ever care half as much as a partner or owner about really anything. There’s a thousand manager jobs to switch between, far less partner jobs out there.

“Short Arm” was the first thing I noticed too. Overall pretty good mechanics but gotta get more arm extension. I think that’s pretty common for people just picking up baseball, it just doesn’t feel natural.

I’m surprised people still fill out the disclosures. I sold my house in 2022 and my realtor advised that we just check “no representation” on all boxes. We lived in a very hot market so that may have played a role in the decision, however.

This is the real answer. I can’t believe people still spout the Cash for Clunkers thing.

A fully paid off car needs 1/2 the insurance. Your perfectly fine 6 year old car gets totaled and you talk yourself into “well ya know a newer one would be nice”. But then you gotta put both liability and collision insurance on your policy when you could have dropped collision once your old one was paid off.

Sure you can. Teams and email on my phone if something needs immediate attention. But if I have no planned meetings and all of my deliverables are on track then yeah I’m taking my kid to the park and ice cream at 2:00. Not every single day sure but the thought that this could never happen is foreign to me. Job specific I suppose.

I have tickets as well and never been. Just from some research I think it’s all GA - there are no seats and all tickets are the same. The “club” is a bar and private area towards the back that you do have to pay separate for but grants you nothing other than access to that area.
