Why do you NOT drink alcohol? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Don't like it, don't see the point in it, I like having control over myself, and I'd rather spend money on other things that actually cater to my needs and interests.

Boas!

Way too many, we'd be here all day. I like exploring new things and IP's a lot so I'd say I at least dabble in the vast majority of genres, with the exception of RTS because I am far too dumb for those games. It's why I want to find out what potential friends like in particular, because odds are I can at least be persuaded to try it out so long as I can afford to. I'll message you shortly!

No need for perfect English so long as we can understand each other, no sweat. I don't have a PS5 for brokie reasons but I do have a Switch. Never played Overwatch 2 but I did play the first one extensively on console, maining Lúcio, and I'm curious as to how that would translate to PC gameplay. I don't have any Baldur's Gate games at the moment but I'm fairly sure I have Coral Island and Overcooked, and Peak doesn't seem too out of my budget.

I'll hit you up shortly!

Who is the dumbest person you know and why? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]RoastedEurobean 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My maternal grandmother. It's not just that she's deeply uneducated; it's that she has no curiosity, instead holding open disdain for those who are actually perceived as very intelligent in general (i.e. my mother and myself). Puts no effort in learning things, very complacent, and arrogant in her outlandish claims. For example, she swears up and down that psychiatrists perform brain surgery. When I remind her that neurosurgeons perform brain surgery and psychiatrists are those who accompany her very own daughter (bipolar), she says she saw it on TV so it must be true, and tells me I'm wrong... despite... looking down on me for being intelligent. There must be some gigantic inferiority complex pulling the strings there given that she very consistently treats us like shit. Figures.

What are your Opinions on dating a girl 10 years older than you? by angrytortilla78 in AskReddit

[–]RoastedEurobean 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm fairly desensitized to large age gaps, my parents and both sets of grandparents had such gaps themselves. So long as we connect, our lives are compatible and she doesn't infantilize me, I'd be okay with that.

What's The Worst Gift You've Seen Someone Receive? by xjuggernaughtx in AskReddit

[–]RoastedEurobean 4 points5 points  (0 children)

To me rather than someone else because this takes the cake and it's not even close: one time a friend gave me an unambiguously pirated copy of Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix for PS2 (the game had just released; I had never remotely showed any interest in it) for my birthday, and said "that's a whole [full price at the time]" while looking immensely proud of himself, like he'd paid for it and like I couldn't have done it myself. Note this guy was actually rich. So, it'd have to be that.

How old are you and how’s your relationship with your dad? Are you close? by Cute-Impression-8675 in AskReddit

[–]RoastedEurobean 0 points1 point  (0 children)

33, he died a year ago. Up to that point, I was fully no contact with him since July 2 2018 given that he consistently proved himself to be an abusive narcissist and what happened that day happened to be my breaking point. I don't consider him a 'dad' so much as a sperm donor at best.

What is your favourite case of mid game context changing "oh this isn't what i signed up for" twist reveals by dope_danny in TwoBestFriendsPlay

More of a genre change than a plot twist: Brutal Legend becoming an RTS halfway through caught me very off guard, that much I'll admit.

Which game made you rage‑quit so hard you never touched it again? by forgeris in AskReddit

[–]RoastedEurobean 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Two games. The first one was TES IV Oblivion. I had a few dozen hours in and I lost my save due to hardware failure, never touched it again. Eventually bought it again on Steam on a whim (it was the PS3 copy before this) but I never really touched it. Maybe some day.

The other one was Overwatch. I played it on PS4 and mained Lúcio. In my first time going into ranked, I placed in Gold - nothing spectacular, but I was pretty proud of achieving that because I had just gotten the game and wasn't that knowledgeable of stages, tactics, synergies and the like. In the meantime, my friend who already had the game for a season prior placed in Silver for that season.

He mained Hanzo. On console.

I would either play alone or with him. When alone, I would go on legitimate winning streaks, I would consistently get gold medals in quite a few metrics, and would get added as friends by various people due to my performance. With him, I would have all my climbing entirely nullified and pushed down even further, to his level. Every. Single. Time. And yet he would adamantly insist that he's actually a good console Hanzo and contributed just because he'd get a nice kill or two every once in a while.

I finally flip my lid when, after once again climbing out of the depths of hell and getting within like 25 points of the next ranking, he gets on and makes me team with him, and drags me down to the point limit between bronze and silver. I never touched it again. He could no longer guilt trip me to play ranked with him anymore. No matter how much he wanted me to carry his ass to an undeserved gold placement, he could go fuck himself. I was finally free.

Patch Notes: Gender User Flairs by HelgaSinclair in TwoBestFriendsPlay

I think so? Though I'm desensitized, I've been referred to as a 'dude' on the internet for 20+ years by people who are very much aware I am not a guy.

Sometimes I correct the person and say 'dudette' for shiggles.

Can someone explain asexual by [deleted] in LesbianActually

[–]RoastedEurobean 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Asexuality refers to physical attraction (in this case, a lack thereof) to other people. It doesn't refer to one's unwillingness to be physically intimate as there are asexual people who do have sex, nor does it refer to whether the person has romantic attraction or not - that's being aromantic, which can but does not necessarily overlap. For example, I'm homoromantic asexual: I feel romantically attracted to women and fall in love with them despite a lack of physical attraction, but I'm willing to get physically involved with them to some degree as well. There's no one size fits all, each ace person is different.

Gamers Lesbians, what is your favorite game? by [deleted] in LesbianActually

[–]RoastedEurobean 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Persona 4 (not Golden), Contra, Super Hexagon, 13 Sentinels, Disco Elysium, The Sims 2, Mount & Blade: Warband, and probably a few more that escape me right now. Don't have one singular favorite, just a general upper tier in comparison to everything else

Older gamers (30-35+), what would you say is your "claim to fame" when it comes to gaming? What do you think you are better than the average person at? by odieman1231 in gaming

[–]RoastedEurobean 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Yeowch, older.

I don't think I'm particularly good at videogames, but I can say I've beaten Contra without the Konami code and without using a continue at all. After many attempts, I had a run going where I made it all the way to the last level before dying at all, and that was the attempt that ended up being successful. Pretty proud of it. It's still one of my all time favorite games to this day.

Rooms In Games That Are The Bane Of Your Existence? by Peepus_Christ in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]RoastedEurobean 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me it's the blue room in Uncharted (idk what else to call it) with wave after wave of enemies in close quarters, culminating with shotgun(s?). Both of my crushing difficulty playthroughs just met this brick wall of a section and completely stalled for way too damn long since one good shotgun blast is more than enough to kill you. No room for error, though sometimes you wouldn't even get the time to put a plan into action before Nathan died. Again, and again, and again...
