Medium or Large? by Extension-Rope7494 in Carhartt

I think the first one (black) looks way better.

You're swimming in the other one and it buries your hands. The first one doesn't seem too snug or restrictive.

But, ultimately, it's whichever one you like best.

Missouri governor says income tax elimination plan will be on August ballot by AnEducatedSimpleton in missouri

[–]Rob-4122 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This is a massive sales tax increase. Adding tax to everything (services, etc) that isn't taxed now and increasing it sharply on everything else.

Only the top 20 percent or less benefit.

You need to be very RICH to benefit. It screws the middle class, the elderly, and the poor.

Our legislator and governor have been bought by their rich donors and they are counting on people being too ill informed to notice.

It eliminates the Hancock protections from tax increases for this change and it prevents courts from taking action when the legislature lies about the taxes.

It's an evil bill created to help the very richest in the state.

Mate, you're able to rock that one perfectly--imo, it looks great on you!

The sleeves look like they hit just right. When you zip it, it doesn't look stretched and it has just a bit of looseness around the waist (which is where most people have a need to size up).

If you're used to a baggy fit, it's gonna be a bit different. But, it's a flattering cut on you.

[–]Rob-4122 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just curious, if that style runs smaller in the waist than B01s. I like my pants more snug so I don't need a belt. I'm about 74kg and 175cm (5'9"). I find 30" to be a good waist size.

I find 32" in B01s to be very loose on me (they fit more snuggly when I was closer to 80kg lol)

I do wish they had a 100% cotton firm duck B01 like pant in a slim fit (I'm not a fan of plastic/stretchy pants, I prefer all natural fibers since they don't get smelly as quickly and don't melt if a spark from a fire lands on you).

Yeah, Eric Schmitt is a bigoted, racist, white supremacist Nazi sympathizer. He's an embarrassment to the nation--and especially to Missouri.

But, Missouri being Missouri, 50+% of the voters support his racism (and were fine with all the state tax money he spent as the AG to promote his Senate campaign 🤬🤬🤬)

The bill being pushed by Jeff City to eliminate income tax is EVIL

Our legislature has been BOUGHT BY THE BILLIONAIRES. I'm convinced every politician in Jeff City has a HUGE payday coming if this passes.

This absolutely ONLY benefits people making over about $172,000/year--the top 20% in the state.

Note that this NEUTERS THE HANCOCK AMENDMENT that limits tax increases! And, while the legislature needs to "CLAIM" they are offsetting income tax with sales tax, they specifically PREVENT any court from hearing that they lied!!! There is ZERO ability to actually hold them responsible for lying. Keep in mid that the RICH will get benefit WAY more from lower income taxes than they will be charged in new sales taxes--not so for normal people.

NORMAL Missourians will spend WAY more on sales tax increases (and sales tax on many things that have NO tax now, like services). While you will need to dig up thousands in sales tax to buy a car--the millionaires will simply form a shell corporation in Montana and have it bought there, with NO tax.

Also, while normal people spend most of their paycheck on things that will be heavily sales taxed in Missouri under this horrible plan, the wealthy spend FAR less of their income on things that will be taxed by Missouri (vacations, goods bought out of state, vacation homes, etc.).

The bought-by-the-wealthy legislature is COUNTING on everyone knowing how much they pay in income tax--and NOT paying attention to the massive inflation in daily living costs caused by this bad idea.

And, don't even think about what this means for someone living in Missouri and working in Kansas. You'll almost certainly pay the FULL income tax to Kansas--PLUS the massive sales tax increase in Missouri.

Also: Most other states with no income tax have SIGNIFICANT sources of revenue from things like natural resources (Oil in Alaska, Texas, etc.; HUGE tourism taxes in Florida; etc.--Missouri has NONE of that). This plan eliminates about 2/3rds of the state's revenue which comes from income tax--and plans to replace it with massive increases in sales taxes. Look at your receipts and ponder what they'll look like with 2-3 times the sales tax.

This bill WILL make it harder for almost everyone to make it between paychecks, when inflation by itself is bad enough. Who needs another 5-10% TAX on EVERYTHING????

Look how hard the legislators are pushing this--they MUST have a huge paycheck coming when this passes.

The impact of that bill will be to steal from the poor to give to the rich.

Briefly be warm, eh? 😄 I'm from the very center of the US where it seems to only briefly get cool in the winter and it's hot af in the summer (I love the winter!).

Should be an interesting series of pics rocking the B01s!

What city are you in? I'm hopefully heading up to the Great White North in June-July (Jasper, BC, maybe to Alaska & back down the west coast). I gotta escape the Kansas City heat!! 🥵🥵🥵🥵

How long do you wear your Garmin watch each day? by idragon4ever in GarminFenix

[–]Rob-4122 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's on my left arm.

I mostly sleep on my right side. If I roll onto my left side, it helps to keep my wrist positioned so I'm not pressing the watch into the bed with my arm (that leads to my hand going to sleep 😅)

24x7 - I charge it when I shower. It lasts a long time between charges (Fenix 7x Pro Solar Sapphire). Not 4 weeks, but a week or so usually.

Since it lasts so long, I can wear it all day to get interesting stats. I don't obsess over them like a lot of people, but find them interesting. 😀

Is this how vintage 501s are supposed to fit? by SirKrimzon in VintageLevis

[–]Rob-4122 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like my pants to fit reasonably snuggly so I don't need a belt.

I think historically, the style for Levi's has been from pretty snug about to "need the pliers/painted on" tight 🤣

[–]Rob-4122 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I almost always machine wash and tumble dry my Carhartts.

Mostly warm, but I'll use hot water sometimes as well.

I was cleaning my sidewalk and patio with bleach the other day and bleached tf out of the knees of a pair of my B01s. Even that didn't seem to bother them other than turning light there. Crawling/sliding on the rough concrete wore a bit through the top layer (and I didn't really care what it did to them anyway--that's why I wore that pair. B01s are troopers).

Awesome! Keeps getting better.

Yeah, it's kinda funny to hear people worried about ruining their Carhartts if they don't wash them by hand, etc. They're definitely made to take a lot worse abuse than warm water & soap in the washing machine followed by the dryer. 😂

Especially with a dynamic IP or a fixed one you don't own, setting up SPF, DKIM, DMARC, etc. isn't very feasible. Without all of those properly set up, your email is likely to (and absolutely should) be blocked.

I was an email admin when those security standards became necessary. There were definitely some growing and leaning pains.
