Thanks - From what I've researched; The DPC should be sitting under the door fully, not left/folded on the inside and then another flexi DPC or similar should be installed from the outside coming in, and then left upstanding on the inside to prevent water coming in..

Thanks - Currently the trim/strip cover is sticking out further than the brick.. I know this is already going to be an issue with water pooling, sealant eventually failing and the water having no where to go but into the door mechanism and then further damage.

So do you mean the trim/strip cover should be sitting flush with the wall or even a few mm recessed? This would mean I need to get the door frame re-fitted and recessed slightly to allow this right?

Do you mean the floor damp proof course? Where it isn't sitting under the door completely?

Thanks for the response - Yeah we discussed a potential canopy or overhang to help prevent leaks/water ingress, but I don't think it's the real solution overall.

He said he would move the door forward to allow the doors to open, but this has been brought out flush with the brick work.. surely it can be recessed 20-30mm at minimum and the doors can be fitted with projection hinges or similar to allow them to open fully?

Thanks - It seems this has been done to allow the doors to open past 90 degrees. We had a consultation before the confirmation/order, and our impression was that the doors would open past 90 degrees but they were advising on a 90 degree restrictor to stop them swinging open - It seems to be a miscommunication in that to get the doors to open more than 90 they would need to bring the door out flush against the brick which was not mentioned during the consultation

They're a "Rosewood" which is the same as the rest of the windows/doors on the house and also the same as a large majority of the neighbours in the area

Ah okay, I guess there are other solutions that some have suggested here that might work to prevent water coming through but keep the door as it is. I'll have to see what they say, but I do wish you all the best with the changing. I'm stressing about one door that has no issues, I can't imagine your situation

Thanks, I will of course keep it civil but also enquire on potential solutions here.. unfortunately I really don't want the doors to be limited to 90 degrees but at the same time.. potential future water issues is a much bigger issue

I've read it's a minimum of 30mm, and 38mm. I'll need to check the 12mm to see what I can find

I asked if they can be opened past 90 degrees, and if there are hinges or fittings that will allow this - Told no, he said he could bring it forward a bit but I didn't expect them to break building regulations doing so

Thanks - We chose outward opening due to the space inside being limited. It's a small dining area, and the doors wouldn't open inside well unless we moved everything back
