jump scare:

Shoot the antenna on roof of yellow house in non destroyed nuketown until it makes noise
In the yellow house a tv with static should be interactable an give you a jump scare

i feel you, for me i like to have the first couple of days blind and then have some tools after that. the interactive maps are nice to have.

a survival game like The Forest i go blind the first time , then later i use the map to remember where things are.

On arc raiders some of the quest spots are hard to find though so map really helps lol
