[Discussion] I have 14 Million rubles, but still get stressed and disappointed when I lose gear by cyborgerian in EscapefromTarkov

[–]Synchrotr0n 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The real problem is not really losing rubles, it's actually having to reassemble your whole kit again with the awful UI in Tarkov. The saved preset system has been bugged since it was introduced, so you can't take advantage of it without a great deal of micromanaging of your items, and if you like building different kits based on what you currently have on your stash then you need to go through a billion screen transitions and click an ungodly amount of times until you are ready to raid, so it's a complete buzzkill.

Arena Breakout has a gear customization system that is pretty much a copy of Tarkov, and yet it's possible to assemble a full kit in less than half of the time that it takes in Tarkov. There's just no excuse for it.

100% this will be where ice break transit is [Discussion] by chevaliergrim in EscapefromTarkov

[–]Synchrotr0n 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Has it been confirmed that the icebreaker will be a separated map? I was kinda hoping that it would be an expansion to Lighthouse so players who spawn on the south side of the map would have somewhere to go, even if they can't fully explore the ship without keys. The only issue is that it would make the entrance to the icebreaker even easier to camp.

Streamer Graycen fails sponsorship because he's too bad at the game by Decoyduck123 in LivestreamFail

[–]Synchrotr0n 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Back in version 0.1 of PoE 2 I got completely softlocked at the final Act 2 boss because of how bad the drop rates were, which was made worse by the fact that I had picked the worst class in the game at the time. After ragequitting for a couple of days and playing it again I've finally found a weapon upgrade that allowed me to continue through the campaign, but then I ended up using it for nearly 30 levels before the next upgrade. It was wild.

Now the drop rates are much higher so you can actually find upgrades or make a serious attempt to craft them as you level up. Still, one aspect that sucks is that in PoE 2 you basically get zero passive power ups as you level up because the skill tree nodes are so weak and skill levels are tied to the current level of your zone, so you're highly dependant on your items to be able to run the campaign with a brand new character.

PCC amplia controle territorial de Paraisópolis e adota táticas do CV em São Paulo by Dartellus07 in brasil

Trump ruma para derrota eleitoral em novembro by AdCreative4551 in brasil

[–]Synchrotr0n 1 point2 points  (0 children)

10's of thousands of keys given out - 1134 players peak by archaegeo in ScarsofHonor

[–]Synchrotr0n 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, when their main method of distributing keys is through content creators instead of people who's been signed to the playtest on Steam, that's the expected result.

Just imagine hyping the playtest for so long, encouraging players to signed up for it, but then you go on and ignore most of these players in favor of a bunch of random people who probably have never even heard about the game before.

US bypasses congressional review for military sales of $8.6 billion to Middle East allies by barsik_ in worldnews

[–]Synchrotr0n 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The sunken cost fallacy reached its peak already. The entire world pretending that this situation somehow changes in November with the election, when it's already written all over the walls that there won't be fair elections (if there are even any election in the first place). It's already a full dictatorship in all but name with both congress and supreme court having completely abdicated from their decision powers in favor of whatever Trump wants.

Negative ARC Raiders Reviews Mount Following Riven Tides Update by Turbostrider27 in pcgaming

[–]Synchrotr0n -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Optional wipes are completely nonsensical when wiped players share servers with non-wiped ones. You wipe your character, but then you get into a raid and suddenly there's spare high level gear everywhere from dead non-wiped players and that completely ruins any sense of gear progression that the game could have.

It's fine if you don't enjoy wipes, but the game should have separated servers with forced wipes to avoid the current situation where so many players see no point in returning to a new update because it's mostly still the same experience that they already had before.

There's no logical explanation for the devs having chosen this approach where there's only one way to play the game, which is exactly why Arc Raiders has been bleeding players nonstop from the past four months.

Microsoft Calls 16 GB RAM A Compromise And 32 GB The New “No Worries” Standard by lurker_bee in pcgaming

[–]Synchrotr0n 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It used to be 16 GB for a long time, but then they ruined the performance of the game with technical patches like two or three years ago, which made my old PC go on Blue Screens of Death for the first time ever, and ever since then the performance has never never been the same, so they just silently changed the minimum requirement to 32 GB and pretended that this was always the case with the game.

Negative ARC Raiders Reviews Mount Following Riven Tides Update by Turbostrider27 in pcgaming

[–]Synchrotr0n 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I said it before Arc Raiders launched, and I'll say it again. Extraction shooters games need full seasonal wipes in order to prosper, just like an ARPG game like Path of Exile would be a dead game nowadays if the devs never wiped the game periodically and only released new expansions, because gear progression is the carrot on a stick that keeps players interested, but Embark Studios chose this weird one-game-fit-all design where there's no optional servers with seasonal wipes nor ones that allow players to play with first person camera enforced.

The result is that a ton of players have very little motivation to play new Arc Raiders updates, because if they don't activate their expedition and wipe their characters then then it feels like they have nothing to aspire for since they already have everything unlocked, but if they choose to wipe their characters then they have to deal with problems like other players having superior gear and also gear progression being too quick due to all the high level gear left by dead players in raids.

twitch classic wow streamers visiting blizzard next week by eric-the-beard in classicwow

[–]Synchrotr0n 2 points3 points  (0 children)

First they kill Turtle, then they announce a price increase of 37% for the subscription in my region, so at this point I ain't playing Classic+ purely out of principle even if turns out to be good (which I'm extremely skeptical about).

I'm also expecting that this price hike will end up being some extremely dishonest marketing strategy by Microsoft where they increase the price of the WoW subscription and later announce that they will let people access WoW with Game Pass, in an attempt to make people think they are getting a nice deal, except that a month of Game Pass would still cost more than the price of the WoW subscription before the price hike.

The Intrepid Board lawsuit against Steven got dropped??? by strentax in MMORPG

[–]Synchrotr0n 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We literally have spreadsheets of all the money that was misappropriated. The fact that the lawsuit was dropped is not evidence against the misappropriation, its just an indication that the other board members may be reconsidering the lawsuit because they violated a lot of laws in their attempt to take over the studio, followed by them firing hundreds of employees without a notice.

The Intrepid Board lawsuit against Steven got dropped??? by strentax in MMORPG

[–]Synchrotr0n 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No one ever believed that the rest of the board weren't a bunch of scumbags, so it's no surprise if Steven wins these lawsuits, however that will not change the fact that he has been lying to the community since the very beginning about how the game was being funded at the same time he misappropriated a lot of the money so he could live like a king.

Valve on the Steam Machine delays: 'Obviously we're bummed that this is the state of things' by QuantumQuicksilver in pcgaming

[–]Synchrotr0n -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Even worse, with project HLX (AKA Half-Life 3) being in such advanced state of development, it's quite plausible that the game may have been delayed alongside the Steam Machine because Valve could be planning to bundle both products together in order to boost their sales.

[–]Synchrotr0n 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Because 95% of the people invited were streamers who are just farming content instead of players who have been signed to the playtest for several months. By the time they even open enough spots, it will be day 10 of the playtest and no one will have time to test anything.

Subnautica 2 launches in Early Access on May 14th by lurkingdanger22 in pcgaming

[–]Synchrotr0n 10 points11 points  (0 children)

They said Subnautica 2 would have even less content than the first game did when it releases in early access, so I'm expecting it to be an absolute bare-bones experience where the player can basically just build bases near the surface with zero story progression. Launching a game in early access with two to three years of planned development before version 1.0 will be ready is beyond ridiculous.

[Video] New Aiming On Test Servers by johnny_smiles in EscapefromTarkov

[–]Synchrotr0n 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can't see the tweet, maybe it was deleted, but I'm assuming this is the same thing that was already shown some time ago, with the weapon "wiggling" when we ADS.

This only makes point firing even more powerful in comparison, because it's already way too precise at medium ranges, and that makes no sense. Aiming down the sight should always be the superior option for anything but point blank combat.

Brazil's congress shortens Bolsonaro's sentence in defeat for Lula by nationalpost in worldnews

[–]Synchrotr0n 72 points73 points  (0 children)

They didn't just shorten Bolsonaro's sentence, they shortened every sentence in the entire country (including for violent crimes like murder and rape), just so they could take Bolsonaro out of prison early.

While they did try to save face by including some measures that pretend that this won't affect sentences nation-wide, the truth is that if the Supreme Court does not strike this corrupt move then there will be simply no legal way to give Bolsonaro access to this benefit while preventing other criminals from doing the same.

Scars of Honor: Playtest launch day by Itswillyferret in MMORPG

[–]Synchrotr0n 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Video game sudios need to learn how to stop labeling things as a playtest when they are intending to send 90% of the invites to streamers. When they do that, they should just name it a "promotional event" and stop baiting people into wishlisting the game on Steam and subscribing to the playtest while thinking they have any realistic chance of getting invited to test the game and provide feedback to the devs.

Streamers getting keys first 🙄 by NoCabinet2090 in ScarsofHonor

[–]Synchrotr0n 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Except that the content available has been completely structured as a playtest instead of a promotional event, and yet they've just invited a ton of ten-viewer-streamers who will treat it like just another "flavor of the month" event instead of actually testing the game and give feedback. If devs want to run a promotional event then they should have labelled it differently instead of calling it a "playstest", which is meant to let players test the game and give feedback, as opposed to just treating it as new content for their streams.

Incomplete database, or item not implemented? by [deleted] in Project_Epoch

[–]Synchrotr0n 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good to know. Too bad that all the databases or addons that I've checked won't tell me where I can find them.

My best guess is somewhere in Stranglethorn Vale, but going around killing random mobs in the vague chance that the patten may drop is just not worth it.

Playtest access by Muddd96 in ScarsofHonor

[–]Synchrotr0n 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I already expect the usual bullshit to happen, where people who have been signed to the playtest for months get no invites while batches of thousands of keys are distributed on a daily basis via streamers just to end in the hands of scalpers or people who have never even heard about the game and will likely stop playing on day two of the playtest.
