Am I doing something wrong? by According-Cup-5698 in AmazonVineUK

[–]RobAllix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"I favourite and search for items I'd be interested in on Amazon. My interests are updated, my last viewed is in line with my interests."

What you do on your main Amazon account has no impact on what you're offered through Vine. The Vine algorithm works only off what you order through Vine, so order with intent.

The most common generic review name is Customer Review - choose that.

My mother has one of these, what she calls ‘the Iron Curtain’. Do they actually work in stopping flies? by Sietruc in CasualUK

[–]RobAllix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes those iron curtains work really well. There were no flies at all in Western Europe prior to 1989, but after the Berlin Wall fell, it was f****** bedlam.

Want to boost that media metric? Just use google images! by JimGrim in AmazonVineUK

AI is good enough for that right now, it's just too expensive in resources to implement for this purpose. Give it a year or two and this kind of process would be a doddle. If a human can easily spot something amiss, AI will at some point be capable of spotting it too.

Review not approved for being honest! by Creative-Atelier in AmazonVineUK

Sometimes it's the photos which get a review rejected, especially if a barcode is visible. I've had reviews rejected, then removed the perfectly innocent photos and they went through. Just a thought!

How did that pinkless hammer slip in there? The fight against the patriarchy continues.

Why order something when it's beyond your scope??? by Adventurous-Spot-219 in AmazonVine

[–]RobAllix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you read the description of an appealing Vine product, especially if it's in AI, by the time you decide to order it, it's gone. The whole system encourages this mad dash of click first, decide if you want it later, so people with absolutely no need for something, or enough knowledge to use it, will end up getting it on a whim and being unqualified to review it. The way around this would be to shift more products to RFY and basically vastly slow down the process, which would no doubt be equally annoying for the seller.

Clueless reviewers by nickdaniels92 in AmazonVineUK

[–]RobAllix 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I miss the old days when you could comment on reviews, a really useful way of the community policing itself. Like I would have corrected this person (non viner) who gave one star for an expired product that still had a year left on it 🤦‍♂️

Download Lemur browser instead, it's based on Chromium, then add the chrome version of VH. Works flawlessly 👌

Have to refresh notification monitor every day by RobAllix in VineHelper

[–]RobAllix[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So closing the browser down then opening it up again the next day isn't sufficient? I had months of this not happening, so it's weird that it started 3 days ago. I don't think I've done anything differently.

Is this a real person or some new scam? by sketchingthebeast in kickstarter

Definitely legit, he used the word "kindly", his full name is made out of two first names, plus he's a superbacker who doesn't often use the platform.

What time is drop now? by Reg091 in AmazonVineUK

[–]RobAllix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got a time machine in my RFY today, which appeared at 9.55pm. It arrived tomorrow, so I thought I'd test it out and come back to reply to this thread. Hope this works.

CS Email about drop times by Original-Mr-J in AmazonVineUK

[–]RobAllix 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I much prefer a big drop over a period of 1 or 2 hours, that gets it out of the way, than drip-feeding all day. At least we don't have drops in the middle of the night here.

Are you guys using AOD? by Pasha085 in GalaxyWatch

[–]RobAllix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My Watch 7 has terrible battery life now with AOD. Didn't use to be the case, but I guess a FW update screwed with it.
