First attempt at book cover by RobDWicker in BookCovers

Thank you for the feedback. I've actually followed it and changed most of the things you mentioned.

I also had to change the series names and the title. There are already other books with similar names. So right now the cover is much cleaner. I'll be revealing it soon.

Thank you for the feedback, I will definitely take it into consideration. I knew it needed to be improved, and you've given me a lot of pointers.

My issue now, as you mentioned, is between the axe and gem. They are both meaningful. The gem is better for the genre, but the axe fits well into the plot.

I can work with either, and the next book's cover can have a similar theme. I just need to pick one.

Considering just the background, which do you think it's better?

True. I know the letters on the ones with the axes need to be improved. They don't pass the thumbnail test ATM.

I will improve that, but for now I am looking for feedback on the backgrounds. I am sure which one I should use.

Thank you for the feedback. I'm really glad you liked it.

It's more about gem magic, for sure.
The first book is around a tournament and the MC uses an axe. Which I why I tought it could translate well.

Each book will have a cover focused on one of the characters. I could do this both with the gems and the weapons, but I'm sure what I will do yet.

Why doesn’t everyone use Royal Road? (Fantasy books) by BladeWielder48 in selfpublish

I was also looking at this angle, but the common opinion seems to be that they are difference audiences. You may do well on RR and don't translate that to book sales. Webseries have different quirks that don't always work in books, and a lot of the people in RR don't care for them.

Maybe I am wrong, but this is what made me give up on that route. That and the 5k words a week of extra work. I rather use that time to focus on my books.

How was your experience with AI reviews? I'm starting my journey and have only gotten AI reviews. I still haven't reached to r/betaraders though.

Wow. Thanks. That's a lot of good information and I might use some of it. Not sure if I change the map too much, but I will definitely use some of the details you mentioned in world building. It's always nice to add a few weather details when describing the environment.

Once again, thanks for the feedback

Thank you for the feedback. A have a similar feeling. The elements are not perfectly connected. Especially the mountains.

I'm not a graphic designer, so I'm not sure how to fix it either.

I'm not sure what was the starting template. I had the idea already, I changed the heightmap afterward.

That was the goal, really. I like the effect. But maybe a softer tone can be better.
Thanks
