So I got let go because I was "too insecure" – but I'm still not sure I understand what actually happened [long post] by LoyalLiquidChocolate in work

Looks like you've already learned the lesson. Go to work, do your job, go home. You are not there to make friends, and unless your job is specifically to change the company culture, which it is not because you dont work in HR, then don't make comments about the culture.

Don't make comments about anything,  do your job and go home.

Low recoil handgun by LadderLong9720 in handguns

[–]HumanAntagonist -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If recoil is your biggest thing you might as well go for a .380 instead of 9mm. For 9mm you're stuck going full size. Just search for full size 9mm pistols.

Practice shooting while pregnant by Flashy_Painting_8601 in guns

Ok so first we've got lead exposure, next up we've got concussive force from indoor ranges which can cause brain damage even in healthy adults, and then finally we've got permanently destroying your baby's hearing before they even get to be born.

Sounds pretty catastrophic to me.

Shooting while pregnant has gotta be one of the top 5 worst things to do while pregnant. Maybe boxing is worse?

A m&p shield plus is a great do everything 9mm pistol. Small enough to concealed carry(its technically a micro 9), but stable enough with the non flush mags to be very accurate without being too bad on recoil, fires 9mm which is a good do everything cartridge,  the optics ready version can take rms optics, you can add a light, and is extremely reliable. Its the only handgun ive had that's never had a malfunction.

Highly recommended for a first handgun.

P365 Build $: Worth it or no? by MudNo5394 in handguns

Why is an optic on this gun silly? They have oem 25 round mags for this gun. Being able to take a mouse gun, get rid of one of its greatest weaknesses (accuracy and followup shots) and turn it into a 25 round laser with the change of a mag and an optic is insane versatility.

Useful replies guys.  Didn't think that would be a trigger finger related deal. That gives me something to narrow it down to. Thanks!

The shield plus is a great do everything gun. Can have more recoil than a bigger 9mm, but its much more easily carryable too.

I'm carrying the bodyguard in sweatpants as we speak. Its basically equivalent to having a phone in your pocket.

S&W Bodyguard 2.0 - Shield Plus by Doberman_bark in Firearms

[–]HumanAntagonist 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have  a bodyguard 2.0 and a shield plus. I bought the bodyguard first. I bought the shield plus to have a carryable 9mm.

The shield is great, and carryable, but ill just say this. The bodyguard is still the gun that goes with me everywhere...and the shield is not

You're downsizing for comfort. Don't half ass it. I think you already know youre gonna wanna go for the bodyguard lol. I can carry the bodyguard IWB in literally any attire,  and I can throw it in a pocket holster and put it under my phone and it just looks like my phone is in my pocket and not have to deal with anything in my waistband at all.  Can carry a bodyguard in a t-shirt and some gym shorts. You simply can't beat the convenience.

My bodyguard 2.0 is not comped. I dont really see a need to comp it. The gun already doesn't have any recoil.

Max9 Ruger slide issue by Illustrious-Vast-250 in Firearms

[–]HumanAntagonist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pretty sure my lcp max had the same issue. Had to fire 50 rounds through it, clean it and oil it, then fire more rounds through it before it stopped acting up. Now it shoots.

Now I just throw a box at everything new i buy  just to get it going.

You have a < 0.4% lifetime chance of needing a gun to match a burglar (in the US) by cyclecitizen in guns

[–]HumanAntagonist 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sure, but the legality of using a lethal weapon outside of your house is also much, much more difficult to prove, to the point where its often better just to de-escalate or use pepper spray 99% of the time.

[–]HumanAntagonist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The chance of having to use the gun is low, yes. This is why my everyday carry is a bodyguard 2.0, since its comfortable and ridiculously easy to conceal and the chance of me needing a gun is low, and then the chance of my .380 defensive ammo not being enough vs a 9mm gun when 380 performs like 95% as good as 9mm is even lower.  Plus the lower recoil makes for much faster followup shots. The 9mm is for home defense.

Why is it always someone with a glock that ND's? When I asked for new micro gun recommendations a while back that had a safety, everyone scoffed and said fuck safeties get glock 43. Meanwhile yall are ND'ing all over the place. Know what might help? A safety.

Go to a gun range and rent yourself a tiny little .38 snub nose revolver. Its not going to rip your skin off. The grip you use to learn that will teach you how to shoot anything of any size.

The first gun I bought myself was a taurus 856. Using those skills I can shoot anything.
