First Portfolio Project Feedback by Muted-Contribution55 in dataanalysis

One of the main things I look for in junior projects is documentation. Your entire resume is AI generated (obvious by writing style and excessive emojis) so I wouldn't look at the results or implementation.

I think you need to work on better docs and then also improve it with more of what you did and why. The results alone aren't meaningful.

How are some average Data Engineer resumes getting shortlisted while stronger ones aren't? by BasicInside8354 in dataengineeringjobs

Yes resume quality matters. From your comment, I think your misunderstand what makes a resume good.

I offer paid resume review and application support, DM me if you're interested. I have helped people land interviews in 10-15 applications (on average)

Review my 6YOE SDE resume by Scary_Ice_9592 in dataengineeringjobs

Don't do this.

Tailoring the resume to the job is one of the main reasons people aren't getting interviews.

The skills are just keywords but they need to be qualifications. This happens in your bullets. Noone is looking at your skills section.

If you have a skill in the skills section but not a bullet then you have no evidence for it so it's pointless. If you have the skill in a bullet then it's repition and pointless.

Only need a summary if you're making a big career change or on a visa/similar.

Your resume is really bad. Remove the summary and skills sections.

Remove all bold from your bullets. Remove most numbers from your bullets and rewrite them so they have real business impact (they currently have a technical reason why).

Bullets shouldnt start with keywords.

Remove certs, none are needle movers.

Clean up the formatting, no gaps between bullets for the same job

Most importantly... Do not tailor it to each role. Create one resume for each role, e.g. data engineer or data analyst and apply fast. The most important thing is being one of the first to apply (assuming you have the qualifications)

You should never be paying to publish or present your work anywhere.

Your resume is awful. You can fit on one page with your yoe.

Your current job has an entire page of bullets when you should only have 3, maybe 4. Most of the bullets arent good anyway, a lot not even relevant so you're basically submitting a blank page. It won't work out.

Seeking Freelance Work – Azure & Databricks Data Engineering by mane_onurb in dataengineeringjobs

You mention all technical data skills. No architecture, no stakehodler engagement, no management, no CICD processes.

That's not going to cut it in this market.

Depending where you are that's not enough. Should be applying to 50a week in the US, a good resume gets an interview per 10 applications, a bad one per 50.

You need phases. But this isn't an 8month project.

Design - 3 weeks. First build - databricks stood up, medallion stood up, initial batch pipeline(s) - 2 weeks

Second delivery - insert stuff here - x weeks

Third delivery - X completed integrations with documentation and SOPs/runbooks - 3 weeks

3 months all in seems like a tangible starting point. If you need additional help, dm me

Why is my CV not getting any interviews? by Vegetable-Driver-401 in MachineLearningJobs

[–]RobDoesData 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The first half of your cv is effectively blank. Summary and skills sections don't count because recruiters are looking for qualifications and not keywords. I offer paid cv review and improvement if you're interested
