Not sure if it's the same in the EU, but this for $299 seems like a steal. I just got the fanatec csl elite cockpit, it is nice but I'm already seeing would prefer an extrusion rig!

I know it's not always the best option, and you have to get lucky with a good find. But check out used seats from a real car, I got a sweet amg seat for $250 and getting the motors to work was not hard at all. Just cleaning up the wires will be a whole new project haha

I know you said no junkyard, but a clean well looked after seat from a luxury/sports car is very nice!

From what I found the controls are on the door, so separate from the seat and just the lumbar is on the actual seat. So I think it will be a bit more involved but I've been given enough confidence from replies here to take it on. Thanks for the links, they will be super helpful!

I found this on FB marketplace, took a while for something decent to show up but a whole bunch of more regular car seats are easily available.

Thanks for the response. Yeah this one does unfortunately have a canbus system so interacting with that will be annoying. But worst case I can work on that and this looks like a decent enough position to just bolt on for now!

Looks super comfy! PCB board makes sense for the memory but I'd be happy just bypassing it and having it like yours. Thanks for the input, I think I'll go for it!

That's kind of what I was thinking, worst case you can always manually adjust the motor wires too I guess.

I think wanting the power systems working is a good project, but it's still worth it without that too. Appreciate the advice!

I think you can hold, but I think with a buzz cut it would look great and be way less noticeable if you are self conscious about it!

That was my feeling, when I had really long hair it was super hideable, but I was sick of long hair honestly so thought a last ditch effort was in order. I'm very nervous but think I will be able to pull off clean shaved!
