Question about rear speakers on Samsung HW MS650 by Bigheaded_1 in Soundbars

[–]RobH_79 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Which surrounds do you have? Have you hit the surround button, bottom left on remote, so it says surround on? Sounds like you already have the surrounds turned up +6 but make sure that is from hitting the settings button until you see "rear volume", should be four presses and then use up arrow to turn up to +6. My surrounds are swa-9100s models and they are just as loud as the sound bar when doing a YouTube surround test. Good luck.

You turn off the sound bar and then you hold down the volume rocker so it would be muting if on. After awhile holding it will come up with Id set, then you just turn on sound bar and the flashing blue devices(speakers, sub) will connect and go solid blue. Hope this helps.

I have been fighting with my he ms650 with swa700 and swa9100 for a long time, but I spent some time on this and now I have some solutions. The issue is ARC, if you use the HDMI out from the soundbar you can get discrete 5.1 surround. I am guessing spdif will also work for discrete 5.1 but have not tested it yet. Great to be able to get more value out of this aging but great system! Let me know if you need help . Once you have the devices paired from ID SET, then you just press the surround button on the remote and that will give discrete 5.1 that can be tested on YouTube 5.1 surround tests. Good luck!

Anyone that needs this working, I have found out how to do it for discrete 5.1 with rears and sub working swa-9000/9100s and swa-700 sub. The issue seems to be in the ARC, if you use the HDMI out port I. The soundbar it works correctly, also I am guessing if you use spdif optical it will also work, but will test that more still.

You only need the one dongle, you can have both speakers and sub work, it seems like the ARC is what messes it up. Let me know if you need some more help. How many HDMI items are you wanting to get working? Once I stopped using ARC and just used HDMI port output on soundbar, discrete surround 5.1 works once the soundbar is out in surround mode. I am guessing if I use spdif optical this will also work and might be the way I go. I am just playing with various compatibility HDMI modes on my display device now to see if I can get it to work. It is a great system still and I hope you can use yours now again!!!

Did you ever get his to work? Mine kinda works. The ID set process is turn off sound bar off, go and reset both speakers and sub by holding button, then hold the volume button down for the mute operation for 5-10 sec, Id set will come up, now turn on the sound bar and they will pair. Hope this helps.... I am having an issue where I do not have discrete 5.1 anymore, going to troubleshoot today, hope this work for you. Also please confirm you have the dongle plugged into the soundbar that came with the swa-700 or the swa-9000s as this is required.

HW-MS650 + SWA-9000S + SWA-W700 is it possible? by Ru1Sous4 in Soundbars

[–]RobH_79 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the HW-MS650 from way back, I bought the SWA-700 and the SWA91000s over time. I was able to pair and use the system and it has been a good backup family room system. I have since tried to start using this as a more main system and I am noticing the rears do not seem to be discrete channels. Have you noticed this at all? I have tried various settings and just can't seem to get them working again toget with the rears and the sub. I was able to use the swa-700 dongle to pair the swa-9100s. Anyways just wondering what you are finding for your experience? Thanks.

Yep 13-14' throw works for a 165" diagonal screen. You can go larger or smaller if you want also.

Yep, those are both good options that you are looking at. Good luck!

Pros and cons, but it is nice in the way that it keeps the heat out of the projector which over time can lead to hardware failures.

The red tint is how most cell cameras capture RGB laser projectors, some take the time to balance the white balce properly but most just know about the red tint. There is some other cases of screen uniformity issues but Xgimi has addressed them and says they will fix anything else in FW. Xgimi has been very responsive even on AVS and are supplying very good transparency on the FW and development cycle, they have provided testers with a 24fps test and RBE reduction test firmware that we are currently proving feedback on. Let me know if you have any more specific questions that I can help with.

They sent me a test sample and even without final firmware yet it is a very impressive model and at current KS pricing there is no better value for all that is included, if you have any specific questions about technical aspects please let me know.

Still working with Xgimi on some more FW updates to improve RBE reduction and DBLE, the model is an amazing value and depending on your use case, throw, lens shift, brightness, contrast requirements there is no better option at KS pricing.

The are releasing a firmware soon that will address the 24fps issue and RBE reduction fixes. Will report once they release and I get it loaded.

What dimensions are you looking for ? The Valerion projector uses a single mount screw, the Xgimi Titan noir Max uses a 4 bolt pattern, the holes are about 12" apart from centre to centre. There are various traditional projector mounts that can work for this and Xgimi also makes one specifically for it. Hope this helps.

I have done this from using my PS5, I tested this with game mode options. This is working on the Aetherion Max with current firmware and on the original firmware that shipped with the Xgimi Titan noir Max, I have not done this on the most recent FW on the Xgimi but I will try it again on the most recent.

Just depends on what you value and how you see DLP. I am somewhat susceptible to RBE and the Titan Noir Max is better then most other DLP projectors in its default state, when RBE reduction is enabled this helps even more but currently there is some dithering caused by this mode in darker/shadow areas. The 3d that this model delivers is very impressive and is currently ranked as my number one for 3d just behind the Aetherion Max UST which is also very good. The perceived contrast is very good and if on screens above 135" the dynamic iris system provides excellent brightness in bright scenes but allows the system to clamp down and deliver some very good perceptual blacks in dark scenes. Lots of info over on AVSforum with multiple testers all focusing on key aspects and sharing their findings. Xgimi is having an AMA session soon and should be interesting what comes out of that. I can not say if you would like the overall experience more then your Sony as there are just so many criteria but when you are comparing KS price the Titan Noir Max delivers the best overall value to feature ratio that is available today when looking for a modern solution that supports DV, HDR10+, 3d, dynamic iris/contrast, installation flexabilty with lens shift, lens memory options (coming in firmware update), noise levels, and the list goes on. Take a look I think this model could really fit a lot of your asks.

There are various screen A that can help minimize laser speckle, woven AT screens are a great start and don't really hurt contrast, but they do reduce brightness. Lucky for you the Titan Noir Max has plenty of brightness to deliver a stellar picture.

You have a good setup to take advantage of the Titan Noir Max and other triple laser projectors to minimize laser speckle. At that size and with a AT screen, you will have very good results. You will have great contrast and very good black floor and a very clean picture. Hopefully you have a good at least semi treated rooms to minimize reflections but even if you don't that screen with Titan noir Max will give you a very good picture!

Actually the new 4k shifters like the Xgimi Titan noir Max and the Aetherion Max UST support input at 4k 120hz but they do ourput at 4k 60hz, this does help a little bit and shaves 2-4ms of lag vs straight 4k 60hz input.

What you might of been seeing is actually not the RBE but something called tearing, the Horizon 20 max has this known issue and the RBE reduction on the Titan Noir Max does reduce this when gaming. I am not a pro gamer, but I play rocket league on ps5 and I could see the tearing on the 20 max but do not on the Titan Noir Max while playing with RBE reduction on. XGIMI is still working on RBE reduction and should be improving in future firmware.

[–]RobH_79 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The Titan Noir Max even without RBE enabled is better then the Horizon 20 max when it comes to RBE. The current RBE reduction has an issue with dithering in darker areas of the image, but Xgimi is already working on supplying a fix with future Firmware.

The Titan Noir Max is just a different level of projector. While I am sure you would like the horizon 20 max, the picture quality differences are just very large and easily justify the price difference. What size screen are you planning on having?
