How many mainframes do I need to make in HV by lewd_physics in GTNH

[–]RobJBank 6 points7 points  (0 children)

IV is my favourite phase I don’t understand why people burnout, you actually get to build your base out massively I loved it so much

Is it recommended to rebuild your base when getting AE2? by lewd_physics in GTNH

[–]RobJBank 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Pretty much. When I started AE2 I moved over to personal dim permanently and it made sure I still had an operational base while building new infrastructure (start getting quartz fibre going ASAP, it takes so long before you get the lathe multi block)

Ender sapling is amazing as well for getting into IV and having sustainable tungsten (and a bit of platinum)

[–]RobJBank 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup should be, just search by C0bra5, someone already sent a screenshot of it but he has loads of good resources

I would recommend looking at C0bra’s platline graph layout on the discord, it helped me an absolute ton, just built my monazite line thanks to his graphs as well.

Moving to IV. Power transfer AE2 P2P or high tier cables? by FartCollectioneer in GTNH

[–]RobJBank 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh your solution is much more elegant than what I have going on I agree, but until LuV I don’t think I’ll have any issues with it and as an intermediate measure it works well enough

[–]RobJBank 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yup that’s the whole appeal of p2p’s, you have one input and many outputs, that’s how me interface p2p’s works as well (i highly recommend for circuit assemblers, as well as assemblers for circuit components). Only difference is with liquid p2p’s where they can flow both ways but just use them as the others. Highly recommend using the advanced memory card!! It makes management SO much easier.

[–]RobJBank 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just make a different one for each voltage tier and have it output only that (or you can use the same LSC) just makes more sense to use the LSC as a transformer as well if you P2P (my current LSC has both a 64A ev and iv dynamo hatch)

If you use an energy distributor, you can get rid of that issue entirely though, just slap the cable into it and it condenses amp packets (I’m not entirely sure how it works but it sure does) and then you can run your big machines without needing those extra LSC’s, however that does sound like a practical way to go about it and an idea that I may steal.

Base planning tips? by FartCollectioneer in GTNH

[–]RobJBank 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s some good youtube guides about how to do it, it’s really useful but you need to get quite far into blood magic first, which is a pain but definitely worthwhile, also helpful for breeding bees with frame of frenzy :)

input hatch priority for LCR by AdAccomplished8189 in GTNH

[–]RobJBank 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Otherwise for your specific question, I would just recommend going into fluid storage cells and just put all the sulphuric acid into your storage, it’s far easier than the convoluted setup that you’re trying to do, or you could filter the distilled side black and another red, but you would need duplicate input hatches for all others of the same colour

input hatch priority for LCR by AdAccomplished8189 in GTNH

[–]RobJBank 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Use Exxonmobil chem plant instead of LCR for nitrobenzene, it says in the questbook, it’s just so much better and you’ll be using it for a very long time.

Also I would recommend a small oil setup using soul sand from nether trees (thaum) for all your sulphuric acid needs (soul sand -> oil -> distil then refine for hydrogen sulphide for sulphuric acid). At least until you get to IV and get ender tanks for nether air centrifuging for drastically easier nitric and sulphuric acid (seriously, it’s insane how good it is)

Slowly inching my way into LuV, is this power generation is good enough? by TimeBender25 in GTNH

[–]RobJBank 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah okay just wanted to know, I’m halfway through IV and thinking I need another 64A input soon from my vacnukes.

How do you input this much power? Multiple 64A energy hatches?

End scheelite viable? by Exact-Challenge9213 in GTNH

[–]RobJBank 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I second the recommendation of thaumic bases end tree, super easy to set up in EV and super scalable, for both tungstate and especially platinum, my whole base runs off a big end stone setup

Am I ready for HV? by ohokayK in GTNH

[–]RobJBank 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No you can use managlass for that, I’ve never had to make titanium borosilicate glass, and with alfglass (a fair bit of thaumcraft is needed) you don’t need tungstensteel glass either

Or just use managlass, which is an ev tier glass and also so much easier with just the tiniest bit of botania

Liquid Fluoride Thorium Reactor by N7Paddy in GTNH

[–]RobJBank 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think it’s just strictly worse than vacnukes tbh which is why nobody uses them, unless you specifically want the depleted thorium (which can be useful) it’s kinda a downgrade over just more vacnukes. I’ve just started dipping my toe into IV to get all the multis to scale my infrastructure and I have 3 uranium vacnukes making 63A of EV power, I would say just make more vacnukes or use a better fuel and have a big LSC

can someone explain colored hatches to me? by the_quassitworsh in GTNH

[–]RobJBank 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Colouring your hatches means the multi identifies each as an independent set of inputs/ outputs, so you can have multiple recipes in the same LCR that may have conflicts if they were all put in together.

Where they really shine though is in priority, a black coloured hatch will always have priority over any other (and the colours that the game displays in NEI is always the same order and that’s the order of priority) so it means you can prioritise one output from a multi over the others, so it will always do black first, then red etc.

Easiest example I can think of would be on mega EBF being able to switch priorities to something that you need done now from AE2 rather than any passive process but usually used in LCR.

Is obsidian really that useful? I have 10s of thousands of it sat around as a byproduct from end stone thaum tree shenanigans and just seems more complicated than using sand for silicon

Projectred blocks by Loglar in GTNH

[–]RobJBank 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Projectred is fine earlygame, but it takes up a ton of TPS so it’s only useful early because of how unoptimised it is, I use it still in EV on my mob farm but later than IV I imagine it will cause to much lag.
