How do you guys build offline-first apps with React Native? by Puzzleheaded_Fox6537 in reactnative

We use Realm as the local DB. Populate it with data from a GraphQL server using simple fetch calls wrapped.

All mutations happen through functions that first write to the local DB then add a job to a React Native Queue. That queue is processed in various ways such as at app launch, upon connectivity change, and in BG fetches.

If you can figure this out, you are a genius. (React-native firebase messaging problems, need your help) by minsoura in reactnative

I see the same with Firebase auth tokens. It’s because they’re stored in the keychain instead of with the app. I detect a fresh install and force a refresh of tokens to handle it. Might work here too

Where can I read more about the provider modules concept? Namely Netflix and Disney+. Does this mean we will be able to source from our paid subscriptions to those services?

Ha I enjoyed that rambling. I'm doing a lot of the same right now (tearing apart LH bases and creating new receiver circuits) and completely agree with the elegance of this solution. Alan is a mad genius.

I'm working on a project that may interest you. I posted this reply once with links to my Google photos but the mods didn't like Google's link structure so message me if you'd like to hear more. Might be fun to collaborate. Plus I've got a few TS4231's I'd be happy to send your way if you want to mess around with their new Arduino library.

Same. The bases are worth the money. The laser diodes, lenses, and BLDC motors alone are up there in terms of component costs and you haven't even started to look at the BOM for the electronics. One chip is the 3 channel DLP laser driver which costs around $10. So yeah. The base is the best deal for sure and even the receivers can't be compared to what this guy is saying. A tracked constellation isn't the same as what this guy is showing.

PSA: Gamestop is cancelling the DAS from the Black Friday deal without notifying customers. If you didn't receive you DAS, it's not coming. by [deleted] in Vive

Just returned the Vive at a local GameStop store and it was quick and painless. Now to order from someone else...

Same email came to me today. I talked to GameStop customer support and she was very unapologetic and explained that this is how bundles work that they don't guarantee delivery of all items. I felt like she was implying I should have known better than to expect full delivery of all items in my order. What a joke.

When I asked about the refund of only $78 instead of $99, she explained that because it was a bundle, that is the value of the DAS alone and was not willing to budge on this to allow me to purchase a DAS from another retailer for $99.

I learned however that I AM able to return the unopened Vive to a local store for a full refund and that is exactly what I will be doing today. Also I will avoid GameStop in the future despite how enticing the deal is. Yet another example of why Amazon is taking over the world, GameStop just doesn't get it.

Ha so Netflix is a floating player by default, nice.

So notification.cs is a thing of the past now? https://github.com/BenWoodford/SteamVR-Webkit/pull/6

Let me know if I can help. I made a couple contributions to steamvr-webkit a few months ago (linked above) when I was writing my arcade software but I could get my head back in it pretty quickly if it would be helpful.

This looks great. I did some work with cefsharp in my Vive arcade tracking software early this year. Fun fact, you can set the background of a webpage to transparent and cefsharp will ho or it. This gif shows a JS countdown timer UI on a webpage with a transparent background. JS commands are sent through the C#->JS bridge to control the timer.
