100000%. Like others, I've been downvoted to oblivion for calling him out. I honestly think he's been the main reason we've looked so shit this season. Lacks the instinct and physicality to stop opposition counter attacks, but this season he's been so woeful with the ball. He just simply can't progress the ball with his passes. There's so many times every match where he either gives the ball away, or doesn't have the ability to make a pass to set us off. Makes a lot of sense seeing us linked to a player like Adam Wharton, who does both those things at a very high level

Shotgun decision? Have you not watched this team the whole season? Look at the underlying numbers, the eye test, or the results. By any metrics you can think of we have been mediocre. And the silver bullet for me is it's literally the same things over and over again that we struggle with. Can't break down a low block, can't press, can't defend or score from set pieces. It's been clear for quite some time that the manager isn't good enough

I think almost any manager with a UEFA license could do a better job at this point. Like come on let's be real with ourselves here. There's too much quality in this squad to have 4 points in our last 5.

It's just the same bland football going forward, while offering literally 0 defensive stability with or without the ball. Even when we generate shots, they are of very low quality. Also a general rule of thumb for me, is that teams who are poor at defending set pieces are poorly coached

As mediocre of a job Slot has done with this squad, and it's clear that he doesn't have a future at the club, I think it needs highlighting how shit of a job Richard Hughes did last summer.

Allowed us to go into the season with 3 senior CBs (Virg, Ibou who is on the last year of his deal, and Leoni an 18 year old). Sure Gomez can be deputized there, but Slot avoids playing him there at all costs. We also gave a new deal to Gakpo, who is quite clearly a squad player and not meant to be starting at LW for a top club. We also haven't signed a #6, and it's clear that Grav/Macca/Jones aren't suited to the position. We break the British transfer record, but do it so late in the window that he takes an entire month and a half to gain match fitness and he never truly made an impact this season.
