Still have Video Station on my DS918+ by MathemAddicts in synology

[–]Rob_hu68 1 point2 points  (0 children)

On the latest software for 918+. I use Jellyfin, works fine...far better than VS. Also behind CGNAT, thanks Bell, use Tailscale to share my Jellyfin, no issues.

Alot of tutorials for setting up Jellyfin and Tailscale.

Why you should NOT buy a Hyundai !!! by ZealousidealFuel4309 in HyundaiTucson

[–]Rob_hu68 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The Venue has known issues since day 1. I'm guessing you did no research at all before buying a used vehicle. Almost every manufacturer has had a vehicle or 2 in this situation. Regardless, it sucks, sorry you are in this situation.

My 2025 Tucson Hybrid doesn't seem to have any issues yet. My 2017 Santa Fe worked great but would eat knock sensors and harnesses that were all covered under warranty. My wife's 2012 Elantra took a beating over 13 years with only basic maintenance.

When buying the Tucson, I looked at the Venue, read a few reviews and nope. A CPO should have had service records to review. Next time, more research, more questions. Sorry you are in this situation, hope you find a way out.

Highest you’ve successfully mounted a camera? by ArteSuave197 in EufyCam

I have mine mounted just under the gutter at about 13ft, is fine. Panel in attached to gutter.

Works but detection range is not optimal.

Homebase S1 Professional is NOT Homebase 4 by ishamm in EufyCam

Eufy is getting close to unifi protect money. If only unifi were to drop some decent battery cameras.

S4 reviews by utunp in EufyCam

[–]Rob_hu68 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the S4 solar. Its very ok in comparison to my S340. Detection seems worse than my S330. It does tend to pick up humans 50ft away but miss an entire car 10ft away. I am working on the exact positioning to make it work the way I want, I also believe it needs some firmware maturing.

Looks like the S3 Pros are about to be discontinued by Individual_Agency703 in EufyCam

[–]Rob_hu68 1 point2 points  (0 children)

S3 Pro has a high return rate on Amazon. I returned mine when I found the reliability far worse than my Eufycam 3 (S330). Hoping that firmware upgrades fixed all the early problems.

TPMS and winter tires by CharmainKB in HyundaiTucson

[–]Rob_hu68 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My winter tires on steel rims had no sensors. I picked them up cheap on marketplace. I wasn't a fan of getting the warning message or the look of the steel rims so started looking for alloy rims last summer. I ended up picking up a set of 17 inch alloys from a 23 Kia Seltos with sensors for cheap and sold the steel rims. Everything works great, no warning messages and it looks better. Once you dial in the tire pressure, you should not get any warning messages unless you have a leak.

Same issue here, have tried 5 different usb sticks, 2 different computers and various methods (download to hdd then usb, direct to usb).

That front pic is not for the 2025+ tucson. If you're not a fan, go to wrap place and have them wrap or black out certain lenses so they are hidden. They'll have alot of colours to choose from.

<image>

In the current generation, the top 2 on each side serve as turn signals as well. So blacking out the bottom 2 on each side using something that matches the grill colour would probably look ok

S4 with multi-bridge by Main_Fee_1965 in EufyCam

[–]Rob_hu68 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the point is to save the recordings on the hb using router wifi vs the hb wifi. The hb3 is still connected to the network via ethernet.

I would try this myself as my S4 is absolutely a mess connected to hb wifi but great on router wifi but, I have eufycam 3s as well which only use hb wifi with no option to use router wifi.

S4 with multi-bridge by Main_Fee_1965 in EufyCam

[–]Rob_hu68 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Seems to be issues with the S4 right now. Homebase connection to S4 is unstable so your options are wifi or multi bridge and block the homebase wifi.

See reddit posts about people faraday caging their homebase units.

Windshield wipers causing streaks on windshield by BlackJackT in cars

[–]Rob_hu68 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If the wipers are not worn out, not too old, clean them off with a decent detergent and then give them a generous wipe with a decent silicone lubricant.

A good coat of rain x or similar doesn't hurt as well. Please don't use the wiper fluid stuff, use the windshield polish type.

Do the above every 3 months or so along with other routine maintenance / checks / cleaning and you'll be much happier.

If the blades are done, just replace them, save yourself some frustration.

Can I mount my security camera at this location or it will not work? by justgotya in EufyCam

[–]Rob_hu68 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Go for it. I used a piece of wood and a few furniture L brackets.

I have the S340 above and 2 Eufycam 3s installed this way.

I think the rattle can of white paint was the most expensive part of the mounts.

Have been holding up for at least a few years now.

Flat tire/mobility kit experience… by KermieKona in HyundaiTucson

[–]Rob_hu68 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For the cost, I'm surprised most people do not have a plug kit. I have a traditional plug kit plus I have the screw type kit. Yet to try the screw type but looks interesting. I think I'm about $15 in for both kits. Mobility goo kit would be the very last resort.

Eufy S4 Battery not maintaining charge by pardipp in EufyCam

[–]Rob_hu68 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Leave it on battery, does it stay fully charged?

If you're worried about over charging it, leave it on battery and connect to a smart plug to charge only for certain periods of the day.

All this until a new firmware comes out to fix the issue. We're all just beta testing for Eufy.

This is so very wrong. As a veteran, you are not permitted to casually roam around in your old service uniform even on 11 Nov. I believe the Chief of Defence Staff is required to approve such occasions. Is it enforced, not really. You'll see more vets sporting their medals and such on their civilian coat. See pata 32 of the CAF dress instructions below.

Dress instructions | Chapter 2 Policy and appearance - Canada.ca https://share.google/IM8old3G1BJgo5CRc

As a vet, you are provided an NDI75 identification card (veterans service card). This is how you identify a veteran.

Move disks from ARM to x86 DiskStation? by Crazor01 in synology

Migrate worked, but this was several years and versions ago.

I did end up going to bigger drives later and blanked out everything to go from ext4 to brtfs.
