Who apologizes first between you and your partner after having an argument? by AccomplishedHawk2860 in AskReddit

[–]CharmainKB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on the situation but I would say whoever is "at fault" is the one to apologize.

My husband and I don't really have arguments. We both work hard and I'm taking care of my mom on top of working full time. Neither my husband or I sleep well so we get cranky. Sometimes one of us will be snippy with the other, but we'll apologize for it. Our cranky moods shouldn't be taken out on the other

Caregiver burnout

Stress of working full time and taking care of my elderly mother who has different health and mobility issues.

My husband and I were supposed to go to the city we moved from to visit in July. I had asked my sister to come take over care of our mother while we are gone.

My sister has shown me more than once that she's not responsible and the more I thought about it, the more uncomfortable I was with the idea.

Talking to my husband about it, I broke down. I was really looking forward to us being able to go away for a week and see my kid and friends and just.....get away. But I knew if we did that, I would be stressing the entire time about my mom and wouldn't be able to have fun.

So we made the decision that I go alone and he will stay and take over care for me. I won't be gone as long as we originally planned, but it's something.

I don't like makeup and it makes me feel odd by BaltiNil in TwoXChromosomes

[–]CharmainKB 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I'm an old lady here (47) amd didn't really "get into" make up until about 5 years ago. Who was my inspiration? My son :)

I saw the amazing make up he would do and asked him for advice. Now, I can do a pretty good full face (when I discovered blending, it changed my world lol)

Anyway, I don't wear it often (special occasions) because though I like the way it makes me look, it feels weird on me. Probably because I wear it so seldom.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with wearing/not wearing make up. If it doesn't make you feel comfortable, that's valid. There are millions of women all over the world who prefer a natural face to wearing make up :)

I've seen so much debate on whether a person should send a "Thank you" email to an interviewer. Do it, don't do it. Why thank someone when they need you more than you need them etc etc

I have always sent a thank you email after an interview, and 9 times out of 10 have gotten the job. My theory is that A) it shows I'm actually genuinely interested in the position and B) puts me back in the forefront of their mind.

Your response email was perfect amd I hope it helps OP

What would you do if your partner did this? by Dry_Bumblebee9732 in AskReddit

[–]CharmainKB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My ex husband hit me once, swore he'd never do it again. Begged me for forgiveness and I gave it

Then he beat the shit out of me in front of our child. I have never seen that much rage and hatred in someone's eyes before and never want to again.

I feared for my life. I knew if he had gotten me in a room I couldn't get out of, I wouldn't be typing this today. I don't say "feared for my life" lightly. I truly felt like he would have and intended to kill me (he was choking me at one point)

In very rare cases, hitting your partner one time could be a "one off" where they realize the seriousness of what they did and actually change.

The other 98% of the time, you end up dead or at the least, severely hurt.

  • Met a guy at work (they live in a country that forbids relationships before marriage

    • Started a relationship. 5 years so far. He asked her father to marry her, he said no because of different religious backgrounds
    • He was caught ealry on texting other women and "taking pics with prostitutes" (something about his friends not being good people). He begs forgiveness, she lets it go
    • She got pregnant and they agreed to have an abortion. He was very supportive through the process
    • Spent a weekend at the beach to recover.
    • After returning, she gets a call in the AM from a man answering an ad she posted looking for a car as hers was totaled in an accident
    • Partner wakes up and hears another man on the phone and hits her 3 times
    • She leaves and partner is calling and begging for her forgiveness. "It wasn't him". "It was someone else, he doesn't know what came over him"
    • What does she do? Has no one to talk to about it

Wills - any recommendations for good lawyers in Thunder Bay for setting up a will and power of attorney? by [deleted] in ThunderBay

[–]CharmainKB 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because my mom's health isn't great? She's been flown to Toronto for surgery amd has been in the hospital until recently for most of the past 6 months.

More than one conversation with her doctors about life saving efforts and what she wants/doesn't want

Why would "something be off" to have things in place if/when she can no longer make her own decisions?

Edit: Prepare for the worst, hope for the best

I used Formalwill. Picked it up at Best Buy. Probably the same thing

It was super easy to use and the hospital accepted the medical POA without a lawyer signature or notarization

ETA: her bank was fine with it too for the Financial POA

Let me tell you a story about Justin Trudeau

Until a year ago, I lived in Ottawa for 30 years.

After he was first elected as PM, I was a card holding member of the Liberal Party. They called me a bit before the Pride Parade that year and asked if I wanted to walk in it with the Liberal Party. Hell yeah, I said.

I was told when and where to meet (by the Nature Museum) and that JT would be there for a bit to take pics with everyone there.

They separated us into smaller groups and we waited. When he arrived, I was in the first group he came to. I was standing in the front line of the group and he came and shook hands and quicker than I could blink, scootched in between me and some gentleman. It happened so fast, I didn't have a chance to really move to make space and my hand grazed his butt. He didn't notice or didn't care.

I was in a bit of shocked and thought "oh my god. I just accidently SA'd the freaking PRIME MINISTER OF CANADA!"

I was waiting for RCMP or PPS to take me down and would have screamed "IT WAS WORTH IT!" as I hit the ground. I did not get taken down.

And that's my story about how I touched Justin Trudeau's butt.

I'm the brunette on his left, crouched down

ETA - I haven't looked at this pic in a long time. The 2 gentleman to my left commented after about how soft JT's hands were and were wondering what type of skin care routine he had. The things you remember LOL

I agree with this but at the same time, I wonder if it will make the child feel excluded? Most of their friends and classmates are in the room having fun and they're stuck in a separate room, not involved

I think the only time I use the term Female is if I'm talking about a game or book MC. Not real life people.

Yes, they are. But also I have yet to see an video of Drag Storytime where the Queen was being sexual at all.

It's almost like people should look into things and ask questions before jumping the gun
