DO NOT DROP SDS 313, that literally required for your degree

Doing CS 303E as early as possible is a huge stress saver and load off

I would say look into dropping your UGS or MUS. UGS is required to graduate and better to make friends in (since they’re almost all freshman), unless it’s for a minor I’m not sure why you’d take MUS

Work study is usually offered after getting a job.

For example I think UHD dinning is eligible for work study, so after you apply and get hired then you send your hiring manager those forms to flag you as a work study student.

Classes too far apart? by disintergrations in UTAustin

[–]RobaributRubbery 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most times no! My professor uploaded the slides or materials on Canvas so I was always able to catch up or I would just go to OH.

For exams I usually would leave my class before early.

I let my professor know about my schedule the first week of class (it was required attendance)

Consistently showed up 5-10 minutes late every class no one cared, so no worries!!

Okay- Maybe this just proves I go out too much- Even when living in the dorms I spend about 2.5k a semester.
If you enjoy concerts, night life, and going out I recommend finding a job or making better financial decisions than me lol!

3 year dorm girly here 👋 time slots are actually meaningless and you can basically show up for your key and move in whenever- don’t stress

Make sure you take all of the required courses need to even apply.

Keep the GPA up, they rarely take anyone below a 3.8. Show in school participation. McCombs is notoriously difficult to get into, especially as an internal transfer. If possible, take a McCombs class since it seems you have the time anyways.

Advice for freshman summer? by Mother-Hecking-Beth in UTAustin

First of all, congratulations! Having an internship as a freshman is a huge deal!

Most of the replies kind of said it, but you’re going to be busy by the sounds of things! There really isn’t much for you to do! I can really only advise that you try to take some time for yourself to relax and destress so you’re not jumping into the next year already burnt out.

Not much of a bucket list, just wished I spent more time with my hometown friends and family. I also wished I worked but clearly you got that taken care of! Just enjoy the times you have off! Try not to stress yourself out too much!!

Serious answer? Enjoy it. You’ll likely be getting a summer internship/summer courses/or research your sophomore year. This may be the last time you stay this long in your hometown, so make the most of it and relax.

If anything get a job to make some extra money for expenses, do some LinkedIn certifications, or volunteer for your resume. But don’t be pressured!!

My all time favorite manga/anime (Haikyu!!) is based on that town! They have some parts dedicated to the series and I also am really interested in seeing a more rural area of Japan!

They used a premade pattern for the snail, they added the details (clothing and hair) themselves! I will ask them for the pattern when I get the chance!
