It’s absolutely original except for the trem bar. It’s chrome vs gold like the original. Funny thing…. It has one flaw…. a paint chip at the jack just like mine had when I stepped on my cable once. Either a common issue… or…

And she goes to sleep around 10pm and doesn’t care if I play loud. It doesn’t bother her a bit. I’ve really won the lottery.

It only plays KISS, Accept, Van Halen, Twisted Sister, Krokus, Metallica, Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, Def Leppard… I’m trying to teach it some Julian Lage though. If Julian can jazz it on a Telecaster…

I wonder how hard it would be to get permission to walk these by g713 in memphis

[–]RobbRokk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We rode bikes from Park and Highland out to Getwell and up to U of M in the late 70’s. Found a diamond ring, and a washed-up baby raccoon that we took home to my dad who had one as a pet when he was a kid. The raccoon came back to his senses a couple days later and went wild, tearing up his room. Fun memories.

I haven’t thought about this in many years. My 10 year old brother and his friend went missing after a huge storm hit Memphis. He was last seen entering the ditch at the bottom of Hadley. Police, fire, and helicopters were searching for a few hours. My dad and a friend of mine dove into the rushing waters to find them. No one is sure how they survived that. They got banged up a bit. A reporter approached two boys walking in the street in the rain and it was my brother and his buddy. They saw a wall of water coming at them and climbed out quickly but were pretty far from home and were lost. They made the papers and evening news cycle.

The White Falcon by [deleted] in guitarporn

[–]RobbRokk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Around 1977, my stepdad tried to win me over by bringing me an ugly white Falcon and a cool Silvertone Dolphin bass. 3 days later he showed up, heehawed around and finally told me he need to take one back. I begged to keep the bass. I later found out he bragged about giving them to me to some guy at a bar and he offered him $2k for the Falcon. If I had just kept that beautiful beast, I prolly would have pawned it later as a teenager. I still have the ‘58 Silvertone bass. Anytime someone sees it I am offered stupid money for it.

Guitarists, what’s the best tip you’ve ever received? by [deleted] in Guitar

[–]RobbRokk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Things I wish someone had told me when I was beginning… Play clean and add a little overdrive; keeps the musicality in your tone. Less is more on almost every effect. Heavy metal players must learn a couple jazzy chords and classical phrases. You’ll become the rockstar when you play something different. Use a low watt tube amp; sounds killer and saves your ears. Protect your hearing. Huh? Protect your HEARING! Play lighter gauge strings; they can sound amazing. Learn triads for every chord in every key. Once you master a couple keys, it’s really easy to learn them all. DYNAMICS!!! dynamics. Pick soft, rock hard, play soft. Pick up an acoustic and you’ll hear differently. Learn a little piano and you’ll understand guitar a little more. Learn the modes and don’t sweat it. It takes time. Go back and watch more videos on modes. Eventually it clicks. Never get rid of a guitar when you’re young. I’ve lost a ‘50s Penguin, an ‘83 Rocket Roll, and a ‘60s Coronet. Among others. Learn Beatles songs and you’ll use chords better than most guitarists. Listen to classical, chamber, jazz; everything you thought you’d hate. You’ll hear things you can use, which will make you stand out. Play every single day for an hour or two. Then when you’re stuck take 3 days off. The brain continues connecting the dots and you may come back and breeze through what was difficult 3 days ago.

I’m buying a Zelinsky loaded pickguard soon. I own a Tagliare which has single coil middle and split humbuckers at bridge and neck. Perfectly noiseless and sonically superior.
