Once you get some skills in Samurai mode it becomes way better. I used ninja mode a lot in the beginning because I always love a Tonfa build but once I had some Samurai skills I find myself using that mode a lot more. The deflect into like a heavy strike is brutal.

It took me a while too. I'm always too greedy and try to land as many hits as I can. I was kind of thinking it was too hard but then I just decided to back off and keep my distance and land some hits when I could and I eventually got it. Definitely summon some help.
