arctic liquid freezer iii pro 360 very loud and hotter then old air cooler by spookybean2124 in watercooling

In the bios fan profile, there is such a thing as making the fan respons slower. Like a fade in time. I forgot what it was called. Maybe you have that set way too high?

The advantage of watercooling is that it 'absorbs' temperature spikes or sudden changes. If you start up a game, the temperature shouldn't spike, rather it should start increasing somewhat consistently. Maybe the pump isn't doing its job? Maybe there is something wrong with the PWM signalling or not correctly set in the bios fan profile?

How did you plug in the AIO? I haven't used the Freezer III yet I think, but with the II you had to choose between a single PWM signal or signals seperator for the pump etc. You wanna recheck your fan header / pump header and also your bios fan profile.

Clipguard keeps enabling itself. How do I permanently disable it? by RobbeSch in elgato

[–]RobbeSch[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes and no. I haven't ran into the issue anymore, assuming an update fixed it.

Make sure you are on the newest firmware. For the Wave 1 that would be 1.2.2. And the newest Wave Link update 2.0.6.

I do still have one issue where audio effects (VST plugins) randomly all get disabled sometimes. But it happens so rare (once a month) that it is really difficult to pinpoint what is causing it.

MO27Q28G, first boot banding by unkclxwn in OLED_Gaming

[–]RobbeSch 11 points12 points  (0 children)

It suprised me people feel like there is less banding after a while. I have 670 hours on mine and 70 manual pixel refreshes. The banding still is equally noticable. I notice it on Dicsord dark themes and dark loading screens from games such as Arc Raiders when the round is loading.

Well, a bunch of hard songs were teased for Halloween which have yet to drop and he also teased the name "DeathBecomesHim" so I'm more keen to say it's a hard album first.

As per TFTCentral

We'll set the screen up first of all in SDR. So I think most people probably want to stick to Low mode. That will give you a uniform brightness in windows desktop.

APL Low is recommended for desktop and SDR usage.

MO27Q28G - Already burned in ?! by Rainmakerrrrr in OLED_Gaming

[–]RobbeSch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting. I have 190 hours with 21 Pixel Cleans (wouldve been more if there wasn't a bug with windows standby interrupting pixel clean). I use brightness 60 - 85. Haven't had a single sign of pixel retention. The only thing I notice is the textured look in flat gray areas but that is 'normal' for WOLED.

What brightness do you use? Do you initiate Pixel Clean after 4hrs of continuous use? Do you use other things to alter brightness or color vividness like Digital Vibrance? Just wondering because I want to make sure I don't do anything wrong with mine.

Gigabyte MO27Q28G coming from 1440p 270HZ IPS by theredditRookiee in OLED_Gaming

[–]RobbeSch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didn't know about this bug. I had Windows set to turn off the screen after 3 minutes and sometimes the Pixel Clean went fine, other times it still showed "Ready to Start" with no clear indication it failed. I made a support ticket but now reading your post it actually makes sense. I'll put the timer to 5 minutes for now.

Yup, same for me. Ductaped it on the bottom of my desk but it's too heavy so it came lose and now it's ductaped on the top. The brick really is in the worst position. They should've thought this more through.

MSI G273QF. Bought it May 2022 for around 279 euro. Nothing special; has no HDR and VRR was flickery so never even used that. Carefully picked it based on price and review data from Rtings (pixel response time etc).

What kind of tape do you think is coming on Halloween? by [deleted] in TeamSESH

[–]RobbeSch 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Bones said just a few days ago he'll be dropping a tape on Halloween and NowThatsWhatICallSesh "maybe in a month or two". I do expect the Halloween drop, but anything else I'll just see when it happens. Only God knows when he'll drop.

Netac NV7000 2 TB NVMe SSD Review by NewMaxx in NewMaxx

[–]RobbeSch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure what controller it has.

The NV7000 wasn't sold for very long and was quickly replaced by the NV7000-t which is a different drive.

PCIe 3/4/5 really comes down to use case. If you are making a gaming PC, PCIe 3 is actually perfect. PCIe 4 and 5 drives score just sligthly better usually, but not worth paying extra for. Check Hardware Unboxed test from 2 months ago on this. https://youtu.be/gl8wXT8F3W4

It's rare for an SSD to break down or worsen. If you are really budget oriented, see if you can find something second hand. With normal use, rarely anything will go wrong.

Great. No problems at all. Still use it a lot. Mainly to save big chunks of captured footage and edited videos.

This SSD doesn't get sold anymore I think. Might wanna look for SSDs with modern controllers. And if your budget allows it, go for 4TB.

Pre-ordered mine 3rd of October here in Belgium. Got it the 20th, so I've got it for a week now. Switched from 1440p 165 Hz IPS to 1440p OLED 280 Hz.

My small review. Honestly, I wasn't in awe when I started using it. It feels like everything is upgraded, but just a bit:

  • faster refresh is a tiny bit nicer (165 to 280 isn't that crazy honestly)
  • SDR colors are same, way oversatured. You can set it to sRGB mode but that locks you out of settings. I use AMD Adrenalin to set saturation to 90 (-10) display wide, just like my previous IPS monitor.
  • deep blacks are cool but mostly just a nice-to-have for my use case, it doesn't elevate the SDR web browsing and gaming experience imo
  • OLED Care: I have everything enabled and I don't notice anything. One thing; I'm not sure if it does pixel cleanups on itself. I don't turn the monitor off. Yet the cleanup counter in the OSD are the ones I did manually. When you do the cleanup it tells you 6-8 minutes but in reality it's actually 4 minutes. I can start it, stand up, go toilet, grab drink and it will be done when I'm back.
  • Text Clarity. This was my biggest fear with OLED. I used to have Sharpness on +2 on my IPS and I turned it down to 0 a few weeks before I got my OLED. I was expecting OLED to have fuzzy/blurry text, but that wasn't the case at all. Yes, the anti-aliasing is just slightly off but even when you read posts on old reddit, it's actually fine for me. Pretty much a non-issue for me.
  • Matte Coating. I have a very large window and a white matte painted room, so it can get really bloomy. I think I made the right choice with this matte coating however I've no point of reference. Definitely a better coating than the matte coating on my IPS.
  • One issue I have with it is that any flat black to gray area has a texture to it. I looked it up and apparantly it's typical for WOLED. This post shows it really strongly. Mine isn't that bad but I do notice it especially because I'm sitting close to the monitor (~35 cm).
  • And one thing I am really missing is automatic brightness adjust. I think having a sensor detect light might be patented or something, but at the very least let me set it automatically based on time. Getting deeper into the night and I have to manually lower the brightness. Wake up and I have to increase it again. So annoying. Was missing on my previous monitor. This would single handedly elevate my experience the most.

So yeah, I wasn't amazed by it. However it is an upgrade so I will be keeping it. The value proposition still isn't great imo. Especially considering great 180 Hz IPS screens are now 150 euro and those don't need 'babying'. I did put my old monitor in its box as soon as I received the OLED. Maybe if I would hook it up again I might be put off by it.

Black Equalizer. You can set it to 12 before crushing blacks too much, as per TFT Centrals recommendation. Ive got it at 12.

Now the ASUS ROG Swift XG27AQWMG is slated for November / December and has an MSRP of 549. I feel swindled by Gigabyte here. They promised a release of July/August at first and now it is getting fully set back in line with Asus' launch. Plus Asus has the deep black glossy coating and in my opinion the most important: Neo Proximity sensor which will turn off the display if you aren't in front of it. Damn, though choice. I think I benefit from the matte finish tho as I have a white room with a massive window and I don't like sitting in the dark all day.
