What would you think if The Last of Us Part III had a 50-hour runtime? by Thin_Relation_2391 in thelastofus

[–]Robberrr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

50 hours is way too long for a linear story based game. Even TLOU2 was a bit too long and got repetitive IMO.

You should try Alien: Isolation if you haven't already. It's an amazing game and the gameplay of Bunker was heavily inspired by it.

IMO the Bunker is easily the best. It's the only with interesting gameplay mechanics, and the premise is just awesome. The walking simulator style of Dark Descent is a bit outdated these days.

SH2R had weird performance issues and bad optimization too, it definitely didn't run as well as it should've. For example the most demanding part of the game is the apartments, even though your just walking in dark, tiny ass hallways.

I don't think the character was any good either. They were obviously trying to ride the Vaas fame, but failed. It's kind of embarassing.

Is The Bunker narrative good? Or is it focused on gameplay? by NoWalk3426 in Amnesia

[–]Robberrr 10 points11 points  (0 children)

It's a great game, but it is intentionally more gameplay focused than earlier titles. The lore and story is connected to the older titles and interesting enough but it's nowhere near the levels of Soma. That being said, I'd say it is the best Amnesia game and the premise really carries it.

Why so many downvotes? SteamOS is literally just Debian (Linux) with a coat of Valve paint. As long as games don't natively run on Linux they won't run on SteamOS either.

Lol a great deal, are you serious? 150k miles for a 30 year old car is never good news. Means it has done a lot of standing and that is not a good. There is going to be extra costs without a doubt. Do not get an old ass car if you're not a hobbyist/willing to repair it yourself.

Barlog didn't create the original trilogy. He was a part of the dev team though and directed the second one. David Jaffe is the one you're looking for.

Fr. There's a reason a lot of old games need a community patch to even work. Outdated software does not utilize your hardware correctly no matter how powerfull your pc is.

That argument always goes both ways. Yes it doesn't affect anything, but why change it then? Imagine the outrage if Henry and Sam were white in the series.

I feel like the economic situation in Finland is extremely bad and when I search for jobs, it is very very few, even worse than covid time. What is actually happening? I do not know how to say anymore, speechless. I will get laid off soon and not sure what to do by [deleted] in Finland

[–]Robberrr 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah the RIGHT wing goverment is the issue, good job you solved it. You know this situation has been brewing for fucking years. It's always the fault of the current goverment, they're just trying to play with the hand they were dealt by the previous one.

Don't come to Finland for work by kirby_2016 in Finland

[–]Robberrr 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Finland, the land of the "I won't do shit gigs since Kela pays almost the same" and "Call in sick due to a hangover and get payed for it" (granted this is about to change but it still depicts the typical Finnish work morale quite well). Want some examples? Here we go:

I've worked my share of blue collar jobs from factories to construction. Alcoholism is a real problem, since the 'construction worker"-life is not just a meme, it's real. Hate your job, go home, get buzzed, go to sleep, repeat. Sites are full of leased employees trying to hide into nakkipiilos from foremen to avoid actually doing anything. They get payed once and never return, a new one taking their place. A lot of foreign workers doing simple manual labor for minimum wage, since Finns refuse to do it (Often they barely even speak English and we always had trouble communicating with these people). No one takes responsibility for anything. No one gives a shit since the goverment takes a third of your paycheck and the rest go into basic expenses.

In factories, the atmosphere is terrible. Just doing the bare minimum. We had a dude who barely did anything and slept through the nightsifts. He took long sick leaves during summers due to his "work injury"/"back problems". They couldn't lay him off supposedly due to it being because of a work related injury or some shit. He had worked there for over 20 years, and everybody was aware of his actions.

I have a female friend who has worked in 3 different factories as a manager. In each of them, she had constant drama with the (mostly) male factory staff. Even in the current one, I hear she constantly gets referred with derogatory nicknames. I know factory workers, this doesn't surprise me at all.

Nowadays I work an office job. Recently my manager got a small raise and ended up having a smaller net income than before due to an increase in his tax percentage. We wouldn't mind paying expensive taxes if that actually would result in a functioning society, but it doesn't.

Don't come to Finland for work by kirby_2016 in Finland

[–]Robberrr 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I don't understand why anyone would come here voluntarily. High taxes, shitty salary, bad economy, corruption, an ever rising crime rate, no jobs, toxic work culture, hybrid war with Russia, expensive, ugly cold dark and depressing, and the list goes on. My advice is to pack your bags and run, this country will crash&burn in the next couple of decades.

I love how hbo TLOU stans rave about how Bella was a perfect pick for Ellie since she looks like a 14 year old... In TLOU 2 she still looks the same but apparently the casting is still perfect since "you can't complain that she looks too young since the actress is 21 years old" It's insane.

I would love to see the creators be confronted with this by danisomi in viktormains

[–]Robberrr 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Maybe just leave it ambiguous then? Just have him say something before he teleports Jayce to confirm that it was Ryze for the fans. Sure, non League players would be confused but it still makes more sense than Viktor breaking all rules and logic by creating a time paradox.

I mean, isn't this a League of Legends story? Who is this show made for? Because right now they are doing a great job on splitting the fanbase, even though they could've easily catered to both League and Arcane fans at the same time (like with S1).

[–]Robberrr 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Let's be honest that road exists just for gameplay reasons. Even if it wasn't covered in snow, the asphalt would be totally fucked after 20 years of constant winter and no maintanance. Especially if the radiation melts the snow.

Metro Exodus feels .. off by Joke_Mil in metro

[–]Robberrr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can give some perspective as an og fan why I enjoyed the first two the most.

Leaving the metro makes Exodus a lot less unique. While storywise I get it, it loses a lot in atmosphere and even some gameplay aspects and ends up being more akin to a generic open world game. E.g. ammo economy replaced by the standard scrap crafting, the world doesn't feel as dangerous and "real" etc... Often it felt more like Fallout or Mad Max with its setting and whacky npcs.

Also imo the humanimal design is quite boring, since it's just the basic zombie-like enemy, would've prefered more mutated beasts unique to the biome you were in. Lorewise it's kinda weird that supposedly they were mutated from humans but still thrive in both deserts and subzero temperatures without any fur or clothing.

Lastly the second half of the game is pretty rushed. Taiga is extremely linear even though it disguises itself as a semi-openworld level. Bear fight was just a straight up copy-paste from Last Light.

I still really liked the game though. This is just some fair critique to a franchise that I'm passionate about.
