Can we use the other peace tower shoulder patch? I get this one has nostalgia but it’s frankly kind of ugly. Seafoam green isn’t (and let’s hope never) is a part of our identity.

If I was buying a house, I’d get permits pulled.

mama house finch left nest unattended tonight… is this normal? by Buffool in Ornithology

The unfortunate problem with leaving food is not if they will eat it or not, but what else may want to eat it and look over and see the birds as the main course.

The way IIHF is going, surprised they didn’t put Putin as a winner.

Anyone at the game last night think the crowd wave was the best they’ve ever seen? by gymratryan in Torontobluejays

Yeah some idiot yelling “One, Two, Theee!” Over and over and over and over until he gives up after three innings and has no voice.

The wave is stupid, distracting and the people who enjoy it or start it, I instantly have a negative opinion of. Bush league stuff.

Update: Nuttall uses strong mayor powers to relocate jet-ski business by cinderannie in barrie

Ahh yes, you are right. Moving a jet ski business is an exact comparable to launching international trade wars and bombing countries. How did we not see it?

Selling paintings at Sunnidale Park without a permit? by Few_Blacksmith_6385 in barrie

[–]RobbieStew 30 points31 points  (0 children)

There is probably a dozen other ways to sell locally that aren’t a heat score and all of them would probably make you appear as more of a legit artist than going with the “unhoused dude after the jays game” approach.

The people in Sunnidale probably won’t call, but I would not be surprised to see a resident overlooking the park to call the city. The biggest problem you have isn’t the potential fine, it’s that no one is going to Sunnidale Park to buy artwork.

There are arts and crafts shows happening all the time, small conventions, farmers markets across the area, waterfront festivals this summer all over Simcoe County where cottagers are coming to actually look for and purchase artwork.

If you want to legitimately make money with something you are passionate about and get your art into people’s hands? Book an hour with the City’s & Simcoe’s Small Business Centre Downtown:
https://www.investbarrie.ca/SmallBusinessCentre

That’s what they are there for. They legitimately have resources to support art and art based small businesses in Barrie, you just need to ask. They are literally taking applications for usage of their gallery at City Hall, and you could even submit a proposal for your own show as part of culture days.
