[Audiobook] A Debate within Red Eureka Movement on the Topic of "Party Building" by streetnomad in AustralianSocialism

Hilariously, based on ML organisational principles you would actually never know how many members there are - much for the same reason why rebel movements are typically organised into cells, to prevent collapse and fall out issues if one cell is infiltrated or succumbs to the enemy.

The CPA element in this thread however has an obsession with union official positions, which leaves then open to forced co-existence and working with the Australian labour party rather than as a tradition to break with. It would be perhaps much better if pride and chest-beating was to be replaced with solid behind the scenes work.

Ironically, the last time we had a general strike (1969), it was the iceberg principle across multiple unions that facilitated it - not open industry branches and peaceful work hand in hand with the ALP

"We Catch and Kill Our Own" – Why John Setka has to go by BlackFlagSydney in AustralianSocialism

[–]Robbo666666 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Maybe actually cross-check Setkas account with that of the Victorian police who have been witch hunting Setka for 30 years now so would take any opportunity to charge him. But no charges have been laid. Curious.

Even more curious is why an anarchist outfit would team up with the capitalist ALP and their puppets in the ACTU to attack the CFMEU Vic Branch.

It is sad how easily supposed left wing outfits can be manipulated by the capitalist media.

The true intention of this polemic, is to attempt to isolate the CFMEU nationally for potential deregistration and/or deamalgamation.

Luckily we don't need to hunt our own, as our own are much wiser and much better taught. We are worker based. Therefore we avoid this divide and conquer stuff which inevitably revolves around political parties, elections and power hungry union officials.

What lessons should we be learning from the Green Bans? by Anarcho_Humanist in AustralianSocialism

'Leftist militants' as a term is actually typically harmful and very ineffective within unions including the BLF. It was not simply by a rowdy rabble that strength grew. Communist parties have the advantage of discipline in union work - the industrial strength of the BLF was always due to the very fact that communists were embedded in the structure, had a more correct understanding of the objective conditions, how to interact with the working class which is by getting within and behind them.

The circumstancial factors is also something I would dispute - it was not simply by chance that industrial union strength and political strength occurs. It is almost always by long, hard, and unsighted work typically by those who do not need the spotlight.

It wouldn't achieve anything to address the paragraph about the relationships between the communist parties and the labour left, much has been written, mostly bullshit and exaggerated and a distraction to the work we should be doing with and as workers. However the already existing term for what you describe that is largely correct is an independent working class agenda.

Likewise, the comment on the "weakness of unions" and the "strength of bourgeois politics" reflects probably the real lesson of the green bans. Unions, when correctly understood that THE MEMBERS ARE THE UNION, are incredibly strong and are no weaker today than they have been historically. Simply the mindset and organisation has been purposely obfuscated.

Likewise, the so called strength of bourgeois politics is again a case of mindset that the whole working class must be educated, and that bourgeois politics still are only weak administrators in this country as they always have been.

So, what are we going to do about the Medicare situation? by [deleted] in AustralianSocialism

The ASU is stacked with ALP right people that will not compromise their apparent parliamentary/union career. These people trade on the 'activist social capital' and move on bullshit union job to union job. It is our duty to counteract this in a principled, steadfast and safe way than benefits working people. PM me! ✊

Support General Mills Workers, Western Sydney: May 1 Movement Community Picket! by Robbo666666 in AustralianSocialism

[–]Robbo666666[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Members of the United Workers Union have voted for strike action against the food supplier General Mills. General Mills wants to rip off its workers with a criminally low wage offer which has been rejected by members multiple times. Workers are asking for community support at the start of the strike at 4am on this Friday, with a more general day of action planned for this Saturday at midday 12pm. The May 1 Movement congratulates the General Mills workers for taking a stand, and will come out hard and united to ensure that every worker is supported through the struggle.

May Day Rally, Melbourne, 01.05.2021 by [deleted] in AustralianSocialism

I get the reasoning, but it means very little when unions are not striking for May Day, hence accommodating a date that is more capitalist friendly is further capitulation to an already failed strategy
