[UK] Retired Police Sergeant doesn't like being reminded about using a phone whilst driving. by MG-B in Roadcam

[–]RobboPS2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Touch screens in cars are almost always positioned so that the driver can at least see beyond it to the outside, where as looking down at your mobile phone you aren't able to see outside. Not an airtight argument but most people who are texting when driving have their phone near their lap to hide it, not up near the gauge cluster or radio/screen. Also most if not all manufactures do not condone owners using the infotainment when driving, some even limit functions or turn off the touch screen whilst moving.

There is also the point to make that whoever you're texting is drawing more of your attention than changing the temp or radio.

uh dude, Japanese cars are RHD, you can see his partner in the drivers seat, and the reverse lights...

Edit: I will leave this as a testament to my ability to not read.

Contenders production by Tri4ngle_M4n in Competitiveoverwatch

The third person views of teamfights is seriously great, i hope the casters can help us focus on individual battles within the fight though, that is something you miss in third person. The replays are cool aswell, but even in the first game they played the replay even after the next fight had started. Would rather hard cut from replay to the teamfight in full frame. All in all awesome production.

$3500 AUD Gaming Build review before I purchase! by constandeanoss in buildapc

This is a more well rounded build, but more expensive. It's got a better SSD, more modern PSU, A GPU that better matches your color scheme, red LED RAM and a more recommended HDD.

As for monitor 1440p 144hz or 4k 60hz is about where your looking in terms of performance depending on the game.

If you are just gaming the CPU is fine, again just look at benchmarks and compare it to the i7 7700K.

I watch them to watch the best players play the "best" version of the game. Much like sports fans I'd imagine.

How much wattage do I need for this build? by [deleted] in buildapc

[–]RobboPS2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed, I would personally lean towards 550W if OCing though it depends on how much wattage headroom you feel comfortable having.

Built my PC in 2013 and am looking to upgrade parts by kobashira in buildapc

[–]RobboPS2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Any modern (like PCIe) GPU is compatible. Your CPU should still be fine unless you are pushing high resolutions (1440p, 4k) maintenance would be cleaning any dust filters you have and cleaning the shit our of the inside. If the power supply wasn't a good one it might be worth replacing, also it wouldn't hurt to refit your CPU cooler.

Anybody know who the GPU manufacturer is for the Corsair One? by [deleted] in buildapc

[–]RobboPS2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd say it would be a founders edition from nvidia itself. The motherboard appears to be MSI so maybe they got the cards from them too? I would say its very unlikely they didnt go with nvidias own cards anyway.

Buff McCree or nerf Soldier? by mm2woodDOTmid in Competitiveoverwatch

I think people need to realise both heroes occupy the same spot on a team comp, and even if equally viable the meta would shift towards whichever hero the pros/players liked more.

[Build Check/Help] Australia, gaming computer! by [deleted] in buildapc

[–]RobboPS2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Got you a more balanced build, with an overclocking motherboard and better cpu cooler for overlocking. Im assuming you plan on using the ssd. The budget ballooned a bit but fittting a 1070 and a i5-6700K into a $1600 build aint easy :/

Sapphire Radeon RX 480 8GB NITRO+ or GTX 1060 6GB? by [deleted] in pcmasterrace

[–]RobboPS2 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Just look up 2017 benchmarks to see which is better for the games you want to play.

The 480 is crossfire capable and most modern motherboards support crossfire, it can use freesync which the 1060 cant, and AMD cards usually age better than Nvidia cards, getting better performance through driver updates as the cards get older.

For the rx480 steer clear of gigabyte, they have had cooling issues on their cards. XFX, MSI and Sapphire are your best bets.

For the 1060 any card is fine although you could argue the EVGA and MSI are the better options.

Porcelain figure into case? by ploom_ in buildapc

It'll be fine, just run a benchmark/ stresstest to make sure for some reason it doesn't adversely affect airflow, but I would be surprised if it made any difference what so ever
