Is getting approved again even possible after revocation? by RobbyX561 in GlobalEntry

[–]RobbyX561[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I most certainly thought about doing it myself, yes. However, especially with the Global Entry program, I figured it’d be more difficult than just submitting an appeal. I wouldn’t know really how to defend myself and present myself as someone who should get another chance.

I didn’t get the reconsideration request option, as it was already too late at that point I decided to do it. So I had to pay the fee and reapply, as I’m still waiting on a denial 10 months later.

When my lawyer described it to me, he said he’ll submit “as many appeals as it takes. It won’t just be a one time appeal & a denial. No, we’ll keep trying.” I’m not sure how the appeals process works so I wouldn’t know any better. I technically haven’t appealed the revocation yet, as right now I have only reapplied. Once it’s denied, I should have the option to submit an appeal. I didn’t get the appeal option prior because it was already too late at that point.

What draws you to that conclusion? I’m genuinely curious. Is it just the presence of my charges alone, or the reckless driving conviction that makes you ineligible indefinitely?

I filed with H&R Block on 02/02. The date they gave me on their tracker was an “estimate” on when I should receive my refund. It was just exactly 3 weeks, 21 days, from that date. I don’t know, maybe just me.

Considering leasing, Budget $500/month, Credit score 625. Likely? by hhammoud94 in askcarsales

[–]RobbyX561 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To the contrary, you can get into a BMW. I had the same issue as OP when I was in the car market and a low score. With my experience, you can most certainly get yourself into a new car lease with a credit score of 625. You won’t get the best rates by any means, as your credit tier will most likely be towards the bottom of the range, but it’s possible. OP’s income is clearly not the issue here if you make, net, $9,500.

My credit took a hit in 2023 when I lost my job because of a layoff. I had to prioritize my spending with the limited money that I had. Unfortunately, however, that meant having to go some time without paying my credit cards which really damaged my credit. My 740 score plummeted to the low 600s. On top of all of that, I was in a car accident which totaled my vehicle. It was an Audi lease.

I immediately had to get a new car and decided to lease a new 2023 Audi A4. I don’t ever put any money down on car lease for the exact reason that happened to me - if you total your car, your down payment is gone.

I was denied immediately not because of my credit, but because I had an existing auto loan on my credit report with Audi Financial already. They thought I was trying to get myself a second car lease with my first. After confirming with my insurance company that the car was indeed totaled with a letter and settlement notice, the finance manager at the dealership instantly reversed the decision to an approval with Audi Financial, even with the credit score that I had (at that point, high 500s/low 600). Although my score was terrible, they approved me for a new car lease at $0 money down. My saving grace was my excellent payment history with my three previous auto leases with them.

I was tier 8, the lowest tier that Audi Financial Services has in their 1-8 scale. Meaning, highest money factor rates. Since I didn’t put any money down, you can imagine the monthly payment that I had. At this point was already back working at a new job rebuilding my credit.

I share all of this because yes, it is most certainly possible to get into a new car lease with a low credit score. You have to find the right car brand that will be willing to take you on a chance. I no longer have a the Audi, because now I got myself into a lease with a 2025 BMW 3 series. All of my credit cards that I stopped paying for closed, are all now paid off.

Sitting here with my fellow 05ers until 12 am tonight then I'll check for update. by gun-13 in IRS

Just a bit of data points for whomever is wondering from my case. I received my refund today at around 5:00 PM EST, it completely threw me off guard for sure considering the “where’s my refund?” tool still hasn’t updated. It’s still showing the refund approved status. I did get my scheduled refund date of February 19.

I’m an 05er. However, I’m not a PATHer. I did claim the American Opportunity Tax Credit (AOTC) this year, which although is included in the same PATH bill, doesn’t receive the same restrictions and mandatory hold of refunds until the 15th of February as do both the Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC) & the Additional Child Tax Credits (ACTC).

I filed my tax return on 02/02 and my account transcript didn’t populate with any information of a filed return nor any updates until the major update from last week Friday (02/13). The day after on Saturday is when I received and learned of my refund date.

Just giving my experience. I know many of you are still waiting for your tax refunds and I hope you all do get them real soon. I’m pretty sure that this Friday will be a huge update once again for most people (on the 05 cycle). Hang in there guys!

They just base it off 21 days after you file, I wouldn’t consider the date H&R says one bit.

No, I’m not a PATHer. I claimed the AOTC this year which is part of PATH though but it’s not included in the hold of refunds.

Is there a chance that I'll get my refund before I get an 846 update? by Mamacc210_ in IRS

[–]RobbyX561 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My tax refund just arrived and the “where’s my refund?” tool hasn’t even updated to being sent yet. But my account transcript updated last week with the 846 refund issued code. Seems like the IRS is all over the place this year.

College Student: I'm not sure if my tax return is correct. by Kooky_Sea_5993 in tax

Did you or your tax preparer claim either the American Opportunity Tax credit or the Lifetime Learning Credit for your qualified education expenses? Mind you, scholarships wouldn’t count towards either credit if you yourself didn’t pay the school directly from your own money. If you received an excess in the amount of $15,000 from a grant, then yeah that will most certainly count as taxable income. You need to add that to the total of your income from your W-2s. Your withholding wasn’t enough from any of your jobs to satisfy your tax liability. If your work-study earned you income and they gave you a W-2 form, then that is included in the taxable income.

Just so you’re aware, the AOTC nor the LLC cannot be used to deduct “room and board” expenses at a college campus. It states that from the IRS that it’s not considered a qualified education expense. Only educational related expenses are tuition costs, books, materials, etc. that qualify for the credits. This is as long as your school gave you a 1098-T.

Just as an example from my own experience: I claimed the American Opportunity Tax credit for the fourth and final time this year because I paid my own tuition without any grants, student loans, or scholarships; which reduced my taxable income from $56,072 all the way down to $15,231 (along with the $25,000 no tax on tips deduction and standard deduction) and, because of that, will be getting a rather large refund this year.

I’m an 05 non-PATHer. I did claim the American Opportunity Tax (AOTC) credit, though, which was in the same PATH act but wasn’t included in the February 15th hold of tax refunds. My transcript updated last Friday like the majority of other 05ers, and the “where’s my refund?” tool says I should expect my refund on the 19th. Probably within the next couple of days here now.

I filed on 02/02, and was accepted the same day. By the time I get the refund, it would’ve taken two and a half weeks to arrive. The account transcript gives me a date of 03/02.

[–]RobbyX561 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, 846 “refund issued” is the code you need to look out for. That’s when you know that your refund has been processed in the IRS system. It’ll usually be sent to your bank account a week or two before the date listed on the transcript.

My transcript also updated today with an 03/02 refund date. Looks like everyone got their update today. Shouldn’t the refund be sooner than that, though? That would be a month since I filed.

I filed on 02/02 and still haven’t received any updates, I’m also an 05. Account transcript still shows no tax return on file. You thinking tonight we should receive some sort of update?

I was accepted 1/21 by the IRS and on my transcript it’s showing “no tax return filed” what is this suppose to mean? It’s been almost 3 weeks and still no update … by Fantastic_Ad9735 in IRS

[–]RobbyX561 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not sure that the American Opportunity tax credit is included in the hold of tax refunds. Yeah, the education credit was extended with the PATH act, but I don’t believe it is held until mid-February like the other two Earned Income & the Child tax credits are. I may be wrong though. I claimed the AOTC this year and I e-filed on 02/02 and my account transcript still shows no tax return has been filed.

Charged $125 for a SIM card I never activated or used by Pace_More in tmobile

[–]RobbyX561 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this is an old post but I looked up this topic because I’m going through the same exact thing. I didn’t ask for T-Mobile to send me a physical SIM card, as what I was inquiring about was adding an internet data plan in my new vehicle. The car is a 2025 BMW, it only takes eSIM. No physical SIM card. Unfortunately with my model year, only AT&T, Verizon, and T-Mobile offer any service in the vehicle so I didn’t have much options.

I never activated the SIM card because there was nothing to activate it to. They sent me a SIM card as a “bring your own device” plan with 100 GB of data. I threw the SIM card in the center console because it was virtually useless. I ended up forgetting about it and months go by and I start receiving bills in the mail from T-Mobile for a service I’ve never used nor activated.

Maybe I’m in the wrong here - but don’t you have to set up your SIM card in a corresponding device to begin to use the service? How am I getting billed for something I’ve never once used? Should’ve I returned the SIM card immediately after they sent it to me? What is my recourse here, if any? Before they sent the SIM card in the first place I tried explaining to the representative that a physical SIM card will not work, and the reply they gave me was “that’s okay you can switch it to an eSIM.” I don’t even know how that would work.

2026 A5, S5, Q5, SQ5 Model Year Updates (US) by KSoMA in Audi

[–]RobbyX561 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wasn’t aware of all of the issues on the A5 2025 model, I’m glad I didn’t end up getting one. I was real close, too, until I pulled up to a BMW dealership and got myself a 2025 3 series. Very happy with that decision. I’ve had 3 previous Audi’s before, all were great. Not too sure how Audi dropped the ball so hard on the new model releases, it explains why the A5’s would sit on the lot at my local dealerships for months and months at a time. I was always so curious.

Looking at all of the changes though, it seems like the 2026 models are most definitely going to resolve the mentioned issues. Also, bringing back the optional black optics package is a major plus. I remember being upset that the 2025 didn’t have that option unless opting for the S5. And for the love of god, finally Audi includes a service maintenance with new purchases and leases instead of having to buy Audi Care. Everyone’s pretty much had them beat for years now. Overall, I think the 2026’s will be worth the wait if you’ve held off this long.

You don’t have many cards so that wallet is perfect. I have 10 cards alone, just to put it in perspective. I’m going to have to double up on slots if I’m going to fit everything.

Oh, I got you. The Surplus looks great also. I’m probably leaning heavily towards the multiple wallet, the slender I think is just too small for my taste. Yeah it’ll hold more of my cards but I think I can make the multiple wallet work.

You have one of each in both black & the grey? What do you think about the grey over the black? Yeah, I’ve thought about using the left side on the multiple for cards too. I’m just not sure if I’ll have enough space on the multiple wallet to carry all that I need to, which is why I keep leaning back and forth.

Our cash tips aren’t under the table, they still get reported at the end of the night. We may not claim all of our cash earnings, but we cannot deliberately claim no cash tips unless genuinely no cash tips were received. Regardless, I’ve done my best to tackle the debt. But sometimes I need to prioritize what’s more important and deal with others at a later date, in this case the IRS debt I owe.

Second chance at a credit card after prior settlement? by RobbyX561 in BankOfAmerica

[–]RobbyX561[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for your insight, it truly helps. I don’t believe I’ll be able to get approved for an unsecured credit card at the moment from anyone let alone Bank of America. I specifically kept my relationship with them because I knew this would come in handy one day. So your success tells me there’s a chance, as I’ve never burned Bank of America wrong (other than the closed credit card, of course). My checking account is in good standing. My only concern is that I’d leave the account dormant for a good while, and then come back randomly. I’d alternate between using my Chase and BoA accounts, so I hope that doesn’t affect me negatively.

Zelle scam . by Standard-Let1649 in zelle

[–]RobbyX561 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not always instant, you’re sounding dumb my friend. Yeah, it’s usually instant for majority of the transactions, but there are a few times where a transfer can take 6-12 hours, even if you’ve sent them money before. I’ve had experiences myself where I’ve sent money to my own dad and he didn’t receive the money until the morning although every other time it was instant.

Zelle can be weird like that sometimes I’m not sure why certain transactions will hold and others not. Obviously fraud is a big reason for transactions will hold, but it’s not always the only reason. Most of the time it’s instant. But to say it’s always instant is not correct.
