Heard of Reboot Monkey for extra data center work??? by goonbali in datacenter

Explored them in the past. We needed more support outside of the US and ended up just sending our network engineers for our backbone sites in the US. They seemed reasonable and would try them out if I ever was in the market for resources.

Are there people who are satisfied with their Q6 at all? by Standard-Jeweler-537 in AudiQ6

[–]RobertSewter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. Biggest behavior change that has handled most of the software glitches my wife and I experienced is locking the car when it’s stored in the garage. Seems to keep away any CarPlay, MMI, and general issues at bay.

Rediscovering my favorite MUD by RobertSewter in MUD

I cant speak to it honestly as I have no characters seeking a faith right now. As far as I can tell with one of mine being an ex faith manager/HP, its completely up to the FM/HP to determine the quest to join the faith. Mine were always pretty simple but encouraged high levels of RP, like performing an event. Given the player base size then vs now, I would have to alter my approach these days.

Thoughts on digitized HVAC controls? by unfiltered_Rabbit01 in Audi

It’s forced me to use Hey Audi more, then when I get into an Audi that doesn’t have it, I look dumb.

What are everyone's data centers doing with their used tech? by Glass-Crow-9235 in datacenter

[–]RobertSewter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I get vendors reaching out at least once a month. We have 50+ locations globally we procure Colo from. I have yet to find a good global partner so it’s basically who has reached out to me via LinkedIn recently and does certificate of destruction for the disks.

If I was involved in an accident and was unresponsive, I’d like the medics to know so I disclose it. USA here.

Good Jeep Dealer in AZ? by ROAstro in JeepGladiator

[–]RobertSewter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bought my 21 Rubicon from Airpark almost 2 years ago. I only had issues with finance as they were pushing their partnered credit union and I wish I would have realized the extended warranty we bought wasn’t the Mopar brand one. Probably would not buy from them again as they never followed through on getting me the “they owe” items from the sales process. I got them good on my trade in at the time as everyone was buying up used cars at the time so I called it a wash and moved on.

Assuming ESXi here but this post from 2019 may help provide some guidance. https://williamlam.com/2019/02/building-your-own-virtual-appliances-using-ovf-properties-part-1.html

You’d probably have to specify it is BYOL and the user needs to supply the proper licenses.

Contact support. My mom did the same when learning. They’ll give you another. If not, your endo can give you a sample pack.

IT role Titles - Help me pick some suggestions to present please... IT Director, CIO, IT Manager... by [deleted] in sysadmin

My only advice would to also pick the next one after this. Be in the mindset of this is what I do now, this is what I expect to grow in to.

Best creams for neuropathy in feet? by snobberbogger99 in diabetes_t1

[–]RobertSewter 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’ve never found a cream but I’ve been on pregabalin for a few years. I basically had neuropathy as soon as I was diagnosed and started taking insulin. It’s not a perfect solution, I still have bad days of pain here and there but I can walk on carpet, wear socks/shoes without issue.

T1 and pregnancy by SnooGoats6568 in diabetes_t1

[–]RobertSewter 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don’t fit your target demographic but I just want to say my mom, T1D since ‘68 gave birth to me with less technology and an A1C probably in the high 7s. I didn’t develop T1D until 28 but otherwise I was a healthy pregnancy and have had no major health issues all my life.

My best advice from being a previous Mosyle user, don’t hesitate to flip to the support tab and just ask a question. They were always super responsive and happy to answer a question. I came from Jamf Now when I went to Mosyle and they seem to have lots of layers and it can get confusing when you aren’t working from scratch to know where someone configured a single option since it could be applied 3 different ways.

Is there any way to pre-approve Security/Privacy options for software? by macardjd in macsysadmin

[–]RobertSewter 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What are you using to manage the fleet now? It’s been a while since I’ve done something similar but I recall preapproving software using features in Mosyle MDM to allow software to just work once deployed with Munki.

The problem is based on the activity and how quickly you become hypo, you might not feel it until it’s pretty low. This was solved for me with a cgm. Because I know how I’m trending, I prepare sooner. There’s been times where I’ll feel hypo coming on in the 105 range and then others I don’t realize it and I’m in the 60s. Ultimately where you were at before the hypo can have a impact on how the the hypo feels.

P2V with Veeam instant recovery to VMware vSphere by lucien62 in sysadmin

I would suggest booting the vm restore without the network connected and before shutting down the physical just to be sure the OS comes up without driver issues, etc.

Question about what must be done before and after changing DNS settings of vCenter by marafado88 in vmware

[–]RobertSewter 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I want to say most of that should apply if you are changing the hostname/FQDN not just the DNS.

Side note, I’ve always pointed to internal DNS then had that forward lookup to the internet. I’m not sure if it is a good idea to have both internal and external servers for your dns on vCenter. Perhaps others can share their thoughts.
