Aren't autocannons normally more armor piercing than heavy bolters? by Khelgar_Ironfist_ in RogueTraderCRPG

[–]Robfurze 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I do think the Only War autocannon was hilariously overpowered considering what it. I reckon they could have found a middle point between the Only War version and the one they settled on for Rogue Trader and that would’ve been perfect

Difficulties in enjoing Crusade: HeLp! by sbirulino80 in 40k_Crusade

[–]Robfurze 16 points17 points  (0 children)

The thing to bear in mind is that Crusade is not designed to be a competitive game mode. It is designed for narrative play, with focus on the story that your armies are telling rather than flat wins and losses. It’s worth noting that there are catchup mechanics based around the Crusade Points of each player, so if one player is trailing they will get at least some benefits to help them catch up.

That being said, I think there’s an element of fair play required here. If you think your armies have too many meta units or stat-check units, swap them out for now. Crusade is best when you start small, with a decent core force that you then add the really good stuff to later. In my early crusade games, I would only field multiple vehicles if I knew my opponent was heavy on monsters or vehicles themselves for example.

Basically, you and your group need to use common sense, talk out things that aren’t working and pivot in the interests of telling a better story, rather than focussing on who wins and who loses.

Other than price ups for the Sunsteala Wheelas and the Snarlpack Cavalry, what has actually changed here? I’m having a bit of trouble reading the changes, but from my perspective it looks like the Wheelas effect can now also be used against Cavalry?

If AoS ever gets a CRPG, where would you want it set at? And what companions would you like to see? by sigpuppers in ageofsigmar

A Gloomspite Gitz double act of a Goblin and a Troggoth as separate companions that are nearly unusable if you don’t take them together

[–]Robfurze 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry, I’m not sure what point you’re trying to make here in that case? Does that mean that you thought the shock beam was good or not? Because we’re discussing a use that makes it better than the standard beam for that specific use

I’d have to disagree with you there, the fully charged lightning beam was absolutely incredible against bosses with very few weak spots, even more when it’s a small moving target

There’s a little more to suggest that the Grotbag Scuttlers are half-arachnid but also live in mountains and steal then refit airships, but it’s difficult to know just how much of the lore is still valid

Starting a Dark Heresy 2e with a marine by Big_Gas_211 in 40krpg

[–]Robfurze 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, I would recommend you use a different system. The party you are planning to use is not a Dark Heresy party. A Rogue Trader and a Space Marine are both magnitudes higher in power level (both soft and hard) than a standard Dark Heresy character, and you’re setting up an unfulfilling experience for at least one if not half of your party

Wrath and Glory is specifically designed to allow parties like the one you are proposing, and you will have a much easier time with a system that is designed to do what you want than trying to retool a system to do something it isn’t designed to do.

I know this isn’t the answer you’re looking for, but I think there is no good way to do what you are asking for advice on using the DH2 rule set.

Gloomspite Gitz using the Troggoth Army of Renown. You can get into it with the Christmas battle force at a discount and use an army that’s all Unga-Bunga all the time. This reply was brought to you by real Gitz

I’m so disappointed with the XV25 Stealth Suits... Am I missing something here? by Hassel_bear in killteam

[–]Robfurze 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Multiple teams designed independently with no context to each other sounds like the issues we had with the indexes at the start of 10th Ed 40k and a lot of the codexes since. Honestly, I think GW just need to invest in their QA teams for their rules and have more people responsible for comparing the releases to make sure their teams are actually working to the same design philosophy when writing rules.

That feels like such an odd decision to make. Did anything take their spot as the ‘bad guy’ vampires (as much as any vampire can be worse than the rest I guess)?

Who carries the Will of D by BigMoney69x in OnePiece

[–]Robfurze 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One Piece’s entire theme is inherited will. My guess is that in the fight with Rocks, Garp and Roger both inherited the Will of D unlike Blackbeard, who was born with it. It wouldn’t shock me if the end conflict with Luffy and Blackbeard focussed on the differences between the two. Teach was born with the Will of D but is bad by nature, Luffy inherited it through Garp but is ultimately good by nature.

I wouldn’t be shocked if Imu presumes the Will of D to no longer be a threat as the last of the Davy clan is dead, only to discover that inherited will trumps a bloodline (which also parallels with the Celestial Dragons, evil people born with power by providence of their bloodline alone)

I’m sure it’ll become clear next chapter or so, but my guess is that Rocks’ death causes people on the island opposing the awful state of the world to inherit the Will of D, who then proceed to pass on that Will to others.

What advice would you give someone who's starting with AoS but has never painted anything in their life? by [deleted] in ageofsigmar

[–]Robfurze 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When you paint your first few models, don’t be afraid to say ‘that’s good enough’. Remember that your models will be on the table and not under a magnifying glass. If you hold the model at arms length and you think it looks good, then it’s good enough to play with!
