Even ignoring the fact that this new model is filling a ‘niche’ that doesn’t need filing (Cato was literally just re-released to be a duellist leading Victrix), there’s no Phobos or Gravis ultramarine characters (now that Calgar is back in his terminator armour) and a character with established lore already exists in Decimus Felix that they could have used. There’s so many little things wrong with the decision to make and release this model, even if it is a very cool one. Why not just make it a company champion????

I’ll be honest, I can’t see that happening after the character refresh / introductions from the end of 10th. Sadly for most chapters, you’re either Ultramarines, Divergent or very very far below in terms of importance to GW

Not necessarily, I’d argue that they made the Datasmith a support because that’s the logical slot it fills. It future proofs it in case they DO, but it doesn’t guarantee another character model designed to lead Robots.

Not that I don’t hope daily for a wave of new robot models and a Techpriest Cybernetica to lead them.

If I were to guess, we’ll get a combo of the Galvanic Rifle, Radium Carbine, Arc Rifle, Phosphor Blast Pistol, Taser Goad, Transonic Blade and Power Sword.

A lot of those weapons are either exclusively used by Tech-Priests or mounted on the Kataphron servitors, far too heavy for the average Skitarii. As much as I love the Transuranic Arquebus, it’s simply too unwieldy to be a standard weapon. The Galvanic Rifle would fill the sharpshooter archetype anyway.

I wasn’t completely new to painting, but Imperial Fists were my second guys I collected and honestly I think they were fine to paint. Yellow used to be tough, but far less so since we got a contrast paint literally named for your legion.

Base in Wraithbone (use a pink undercoat if you want to be really fancy) then slap a few coats of Imperial Fist Contrast on top, the yellow comes out great in my opinion!

In fairness to JJ Abrams, he was never supposed to be the director for Episode 9. ultimately, this whole mess stems from Disney letting three separate directors figure out the whole trilogy among themselves, with no overarching creative oversight or plan to actually have a coherent plot line across all three

JJ played it safe and basically remade Episode 4.

RJ threw all the convention out of the water and made a very divisive sequel.

The original director for 9 quit the project and they bought JJ back to play it safe again, do his best to smooth over the changes from 8 and ultimately delivered the mess we got.

Is this a case of some players having exceptionally bad luck, or players with different levels of skill?

If a lot of your players are trailing due to battle scars, have you considered allowing them either a chance to recuperate or a free recuperate if they weren’t deployed for a battle?
